Are you a holiday helper?
This bundle is worth it for the good cause and otherwise it's not a bad Groupees bundle. ^^

Momonga Pinball and Xmas Shooting are definitely great. The bundle is a 6 or 7 right now (would be higher if I didn't already buy that Celldweller CD). Let's see if the mystery games can bump it up.

Dead In Bermuda is really cool if you're into that sort of thing. Sadly the balancing is pretty messed up.
I was playing on Easy and was swimming in resources later on. I should have trusted a review I read prior to playing and played on Easy until I got the cooking-pot and then switched to normal.
Comment has been collapsed.
:D Yeah, exactly. I'd like to hear more opinions on this because maybe I was just bad but Normal seems to be "broken" in the early stages of the game (plus I was really unlucky with RNG and kept getting 1x of the resource I don't need from looting the crashed plane for ~8 turns in a row). I can imagine Normal gets doable once you have most of the equipment but I don't really see a way of getting to that point without most of my survivors dying from eating raw fish first.

I played their next game a bit and to say it harshly, "Dead in Bermuda is the This War of Mine that Groupees can bundle"...
(no idea why one would play their games when there's much more immersive alternatives out there)

*Lol* So I take it that Dead In Vinland has significally improved on the formula ?

Not bad. I only want X'mas Shooting.
I did not pre-order.

By this point, I think those of us that invested into bundles for the coins, or traded for them, or otherwise managed a stockpile of them can start assuming we're screwed over on them. Feels like it's been forever since we've had a coin-able bundle (that wasn't a "Remember when you thought Bad Rats was bad?" bundle, anyway).
But hey- at least I'm not waiting on any prepaid Be Mines. >:3
I'm sorry. Please stop crying. :X

Yeah I've already made a point to back up all my DRM-free Groupees stuff and store extra keys in my database, as it really feels like the writing is on the wall for them. Of course I can't say it's 100% certain that they are going to close down, but given the current trajectory I don't think the prognosis for a rebound is very strong. It kind of seems like they have a stronger future in diversifying away from game bundles and carving a niche in music/book/software bundles instead... at this point there are probably more opportunities for that sort of thing given how saturated the game bundle market is currently. I wouldn't even mind that if they were able to put together some nice bundles of that variety.
Having said that, there could always be a Christmas miracle, in which Groupees suddenly turns it around, eschewing brilliant Be Mine bundles every other week and seeing our fluctuating value coins reaching BitCoin-level heights of prosperity... but I've already asked Santa for something a little more realistic this year. I feel pretty much the same about Groupees. I knew the bundle subscription for Be Mine was a cry for help, but I honestly expected them to at least deliver that. Seems like they are flat out of options and cling to those software shovelware bundles as a last straw. If I get two more Be Mine bundles from them before they file bankruptcy I won't try to get my 20$ back. Otherwise I'll get my money back.

It does begin to feel inevitable, doesn't it?
Man, I really need to figure out how to best get all my Groupees music downloaded via my slow internet ...
Comment has been collapsed.
well the keys come (either means that game contract backed out or developer hasn't provided keys yet)
Comment has been collapsed.
Typically...
Groupees hasn't been operating "typically" in a long time. The recent pattern has been that when they say "mystery game", they don't mean "game that we carefully curated and have secured keys for and will reveal later", what they really mean by "mystery" is "we don't yet have any game for this slot, and will try to convince some random developer to put whatever game they don't care too much about into the bundle in exchange for a few pennies". Mystery games have become placeholders for games that they have no idea what they're going to be yet, and often, the quality of the game they are able to procure is much poorer than what has already been revealed. Mystery games have become cheap and crappy tack-ons that are a result of poor planning and deceptive marketing.
So, one shouldn't expect much of anything. Be happy with the bundle as it is now, because you are almost sure to be dissappointed by any mystery reveals, unless it's a grab bag with some good games, which is the only exception.

In fairness, the bundles the past.. two years now? have been so awful (ranging up to agreeably lackluster), that I can't say I've paid close attention to the details anymore (and certainly, not bought any bundles to reference the progression of). So you may certainly be right. Of course, by that perspective, there's no way to guess when the game'll pop, so I suppose it still works to aim for the midpoint as a general prediction.

Xmas Shooting - Scramble!! is basically a Christmas-themed version of QP Shooting - Dangerous!! and the game's title follows the same format. :)

No guarantee we'll see them before the bundle is over, either. They have in the past revealed them after the bundle ended sometimes.
I said before, the first Groupees Holiday Helpings was my first ever Groupees bundle, and this one might well be my last -- those mysterious mystery games yet again (and two of them, even!) and their nonchalant attitude about being more and more unprofessional just cement my New Year's resolution of staying far away from (most) Groupees bundles in 2018.
It's just the royalty free music albums (especially if they have Purple Planet) and the (weak) possibility of BeMines with wishlisted early confirmations that make me wonder if I can really do it ...
Comment has been collapsed.
Groupees just pulled the last straw. They are done for. Not one more cent will go their way. Well, it was big on the horizon, but now it is for sure that Groupees are going down.

They extended the bundle for another week without even revealing one of the two 'mystery' games. They simply don't have any games to reveal and it's just sad to see how they lie to their customers.
Comment has been collapsed.
How do you interpret their actions then? That they just extend the bundle and not reveal the games for laughs and giggles?
Comment has been collapsed.
They decided to extend the bundle so the didn't reveal the mystery games. I don't find this particularly despicable. Of course I do expect them to reveal the games (and provide them to buyers) within the next week. If they just let the bundle end without adding those two games, that would be really bad, but again I have no reason to think they're gonna do that.
Comment has been collapsed.
I do have reason because they quite often added coins instead of games in the last days of a bundle during the last year. Also the Be Mine 'subscription' was not fulfilled and I'm not confident that we will ever see the rest of the 10 bundles on Groupees. Each to their own though and I do hope you are right. I'm done with Groupees for good.
Comment has been collapsed.
Did they add coins after clearly promising games? I didn't know that. I mostly stay away from Groupees these days, unless I have a very specific reason. I didn't even know a Be Mine subscription existed. Let's see what happens.

Just look at the bundle now. Coin added and Johnny posted this: "sorry for the disappointment, and yes, we'll no longer launch bundles with mystery games... in past we've done this because keys don't show up in time". Well at least we got one of the games now and maybe the other one will be added... eventually.
Comment has been collapsed.
Because that's been the assumption/explanation many times in the past when mystery games were revealed late. I can remember cases of "dev backed out" and cases of "dev hasn't delivered the keys in time" from past bundles. I don't know if either has been the official explanation for this bundle in particular, but Groupees has certainly let that assumption stand and never said anything to the contrary.
"Mystery games get unlocked whenever they do." and "If there is info about the mystery games, you'll probably have heard it by now. Don't think it's people having fun by making others wait for the games." are the relevant official quotes from last night, as far as I see. Now he doesn't confirm or deny that the games just aren't sourced yet, as people in chat suspect, but he's certainly not denying it.

Understood. Like I said, I've been out of touch with Groupees and Groupees-related drama for quite a while. Evidently they got even worse than I thought. Again, let's see what happens.
Comment has been collapsed.
For me, at least, it would be different if when buying the bundle I had known it was "5 games + 2 mystery games".
But buying "7 games" (at preorder), then having the bundle go live and 2 of the 7 games are "mystery", and then not even having one of them shown 2 weeks later as the Steam sale ends does irritate me quite a bit.
The first Holiday Helpings was my first Groupees bundle, and when I bought Holiday Helpings 4 during preorder I already said this was probably my last, because Groupees have been more and more unprofessional this past year; this just cements my decision.
(But as you said, let's see what happens -- and their music bundles have still been great, and a good BeMine could probably still get me to buy it. Still -- I should probably backup all my stuff from there, just in case...)
Comment has been collapsed.
Personally, as long as they actually add those 2 games at some point, I'm fine with it. I agree Groupees only get worse, though.

Like the Be Mine bundles,
10 months only have 3,
Die quietly...
"Be Mine Annual Subscription (Get every Be Mine Bundle to be released over the next 12 months, minimum of 10 Be Mine Bundles)"
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I know, I was pissed but now it's impossible to refund from Paypal and they won't return any of your money, because they value their own bundles as more expensive than preorder of the bundle.
Thus, let it die quietly so there is no free advertisement for failed game bundle website.

They are beyond ridiculous. Seriously, if they can't fill a bundle with the number of games they promised, then don't promise it. Or just don't make game bundles... can't wait what trash they will put in it at the end when they run out of all options... I don't mind an interesting game for 1$ like they had in spotlights, or smaller bundles, but this cheeky approach is revolting.

Oh hey, forgot about this bundle, saw the topic was bumped. I should go see what my new games are.

Honestly, at this point, I wonder why I even have Groupees bookmarked.
For a site I used to be proud to have my music featured in bundles on, I now think the site is just a spiraling wastebin of garbage. What used to be decent bundles turn into crap like that "Halloween Android Game" bundle that was just the worst asset flips and cheaply made "Halloween" games they could find.
It started with them not caring that a game about domestic abuse was in a "casual" bundle to them pretty much whining that they have to include anything, even games like Youthdrainers where it's just a nude pregnant women running away from tiny monsters who literally want to suck the fetus from her vagina, because they "have to make money."
It seems like they thrived on Greenlight and the rush of trash games it brought to Steam. I fell for it, too: the idea of buying a bundle for a buck, voting for the games, and getting 10+ games when greenlit sounded like a steal. I just didn't know the thing up for being stolen was the dignity of Groupees and the quality of Steam's game library. I fully admit I'm part of the problem since I supported them and other bundle sites so much that I'm now sitting on 8,303 games in my library with a modest figure of about maybe 1,000 that are at least playable and even less that are actually fun and worth playing.
So in 2018 I'm done. Groupees is dead to me. Fanatical's bundles have been less than impressive lately. I might stick with Indiegala for a few more months because there does seem to be a level of wanting to provide actual new games (of varying qualities) to their customers, but other than Humble Bundle and IG I'm out.
Thank you, Groupees, for taking someone who gladly offered you their own commercial and creative product to be included in the $1 "for suckers" tier of a Be Mine (and happily support it!) to someone who just does not care if you finally pull the plug anymore.

Save Jesus added as first mystery game and also a $1 coin (guess as waiting bonus?)
Second mystery game not yet revealed
Comment has been collapsed.
A coin is cool but if you are not interested in music and only want game bundles then it kinda sucks still, especially with how they are going lately, also you got to have more coins, as usually you can't buy a $1 game bundle (since also you can't preorder with them, i think).
Comment has been collapsed.
Best option for a coin is a "Build a Bundle" so you can trade the coin for 2 free games.
