Hi all. Well that's a fab start to the new year. I got two notifications today when I started up my Steam that 2 games were removed from my account (Sanctum 2 & Guacamelee Gold) which I traded for a bunch of games, some emoticons, backgrounds, ref etc about a month ago. I keep track of everything so have a log of the exact trade.

I added the guy. He didn't even apologise, just tried to feed me some confusing sob story. To be honest I do think I got a little confused by what he was talking about but then he just removed me, so I commented again on his profile & tried to re-add him & now I'm pretty sure he's simply ignoring me. He has Rep for the same problem after we traded.

Can anyone help on the correct way to report him or whatever I should do. I'd appreciate it. Also I am currently having trouble logging into Steamtrades. Is anyone else having the same issue?

just to make it clear, your games (sanctum 2, guacamelee) were in your library and they were removed by steam?

This site and Steamtrades have been coming up with Open ID errors over the past couple of days when trying to sign in. Just try a bunch of times in multiple tabs and hopefully one will go through.

As far as the scammer goes I would recommend reporting him here:

SteamRep reporting forum

Just make sure you read up to follow the correct procedure and proper formatting of your report.

Probably another Humble Bundle/Store Abuser.

Outside of already-mentioned steamrep and maybe steam trades -reps, you might want to send info to Steam Support about that. They won't do much for you (don't expect your items back), but maybe at least give him some trade ban or something. But before you do that, check/remember how big his account is - if it's small, he probably already have few others around, so it will be kinda pointless to do. But if he has like 200 games, you might want to do that.

Thank you for the info. Yeah I know I am not expecting any help from Steam especially since it was a keys trade mostly apart from some emoticons, ref, backgrounds. He has around 140 games. This is totally depressing.

Currently looking at how to format a report properly. Will take me a bit as useless at forms & will definitely amend my Steamtrades rep when I can finally log in. :(

Some dickhead did a Paypal scam on me recently.

The only thing you can do is to report him to Steamrep and Steamgifts support. Sad to say, you have to move on. This is the problem with CD key trades. There is no insurance policy.

Sorry to hear you were scammed too.

Yeah well I learned my lesson. This is the first time something has gone wrong but what's annoying me the most is the persons unwillingness to even help.

I'll probably stick the remainder of my keys on here instead & give up trading. :(
