did someone try to scam me ?

and there he deleted me from his fl. i didn't go on the link and i'm not even sure he's lying. maybe it was a kind of virus using his steam account to send the link to all his contacts ? anyway what should I do ? be it true or false if he's sending that kind of link i probably should report him. should i just go on his profile and use the "report violation" stuff ?
