Densha Otoko is great. Haven't watched any dorama in years cos the fansub groups kept ignoring the shows I wanted subbed in favour of the ones with big tarento content. One of the last I watched raw was Konno-san to Asobo.
It's been ages since I watched anything but some older series I enjoyed are Trick, Keizoku and Investigator Mariko. The first season of Gokusen was great too iirc.

Note:
You'll see the main character in Gokusen (the female yakuza teacher) in Ashita ga Aru sa (Although not as main character there)!!!

Since I was a child I've always wanted to go to Japan, and though I don't like anime that much, whenever I've watched one, I found myself more interested in the settings and culture rather than the story, so I decided to see the real thing and started watching japanese series, NOT ANIME. I've seen Ryusei no Kizuna and Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and loved both, and I'd recommend the last one to anyone interesetd, it's a shame they are too short (about 10 episodes each). Could you guys recommend me a good one to see next? I'd prefer if it wasn't based on romance.
Thanks!
Edit: Thanks for your recommendations guys, I'm gonna try watching Densha Otoko though it is based on romance. I don't know, maybe is watching the word Otoko (since I loved Kekkon Dekinai Otoko, seriously, watch it if you haven't) what made me decide that.
