Why a lot of people entering into fake giveaways?

Some people don't actually have time to scroll through each and every comment so they just click on enter to win (and in some cases they say thanks). It's funny though, blaming people who enter fake giveaways, rather than blaming the one(s) who created it.

I think most likely enter and forget, or dont even bother reading the first comment.

Those people just hit "enter" and never read anything. They are mindless drones who will stop at nothing to win a game, any game.

I don't check. If I like the game, then I will give the person the benefit of the doubt and enter their giveaway. Since I'm going into the giveaway without the game, then what does it matter to me that I leave the giveaway with nothing?

My point is, if they make a fake giveaway, it sorta sucks, but I won't lose sleep over it.

Aaand this is why the "why spam thanks?" threads are made.

Some people just don't care.

If a giveaway is fake and reported as such, then subsequently removed, everyone is refunded their entry fee. This happens even after the giveaway ends.

There's a bunch of people saying things like "some people don't read the first comment", but it's not even the first comment... there's ones that have IN THE DESCRIPTION "fake giveaway sorry" and TONS of people still enter.

The same reason a key in the forums lasts 0.1 seconds, there will always be a leecher.

By default, your steam inventory will only show coupons (and not games).
I'm guessing a ton of people forget to set it so that games will show up in their inventory, followed by posts saying "FAKE", or "NO GAME IN HIS INVENTORY", etc.
Honestly, some people are idiots and need to stop jumping on this bandwagon. Like..seriously, if someone's legitimately being generous, then don't be mean.
If it really is a fake giveaway (like, the description might say "cna I have this ggame please"), then report it. If it's a game and it doesn't show up in their inventory, ask some questions before reporting it and screaming "FAKE!"

why should everybody read the fucking comments where 99% of them are just stupid "THX!!!!" anyways?

isnt this the job of the mods on here to pick out/delete the fake giveaways if possible. I do get my points back, and i usually have a lot of points. So I dont really care for checking each and every profile or comments.

People just enter and don't know its fake. Some people do investigate if its fake or not. Some people (etc....). Alot of things can happen when a fake giveaway appears you know.

I don't check the profiles if they have the game or not, if it's not stated that it's fake I see no reason not to enter if I'm interested in the game.

Great asnwers, but who says " I don't lose anything", well questions is waht you don't lose: Points or Games? Either way you lose points and those point go directly to these people who create fake giveaways, so in couple of minutes or hours they can get maximum 300 points and then after that they say: "Ops sorry i don't have that game".

Why do people MAKE giveaways to keys for bundles?

I'd think it'd be common sense.

But hey some people just don't care/are stupid. That applies to this also.

Just because a game isn't on their profile when the give away starts doesn't mean they won't have brought it in time to give it away when the give away has finished

got the points to spare, and if it turns out fake i get them back anyway. so i dont care.
