'ello.

So, I am a level 24 Assassin at "Where Angels Fear to Tread" mission.

Today, I get up, start the game to see I am a level 18 Assassin at "Wildlife Preservation" mission.

So basically somehow, some of game memory got removed.

Any solution/reasoning?

The game is smart and considered you could do it better, so it put you some steps back. Now do it better or be forced to repeat it many times

It was Handsome Jack! He is playing tricks on you! Anyway if you have Steam Cloud enabled, you should let it synchronize after you REINSTALLED your copy :P

i lost my skins playing in offline mode and then playing in online mode on another computer. Might be the same case? However, i didn't look for solutions because, mehh.... skins....

edit: I probably forgot to upload my save to the cloud lel

You got a synchronization error.

Each time you play a game with sync function on steam your save file is send to steam server for a backup. If you'll install a game on a new computer (or you just formatted your hard drive) steam will download your saves from the web to allow you to resume playing. It is also useful if you have two or more computers and play sometimes on one, and sometimes on the other, because it can copy your saves between them. The problem is that your 24 level save wasn't send to steam. So when the game was launched again it should have reported that save on hard drive is out of sync with the save on steam cloud. The problem is that you probably ignored this (or some bug prevented window from poping up) and steam downloaded your older save and overwritten it on your hard drive. At least it is mine theory about what happened.

It is better made in Orgin where if there is a conflict between HDD and cloud saves the client tells you which was made when with a date and an hour, so it is harder to confuse new save with the old one.

This. Steam's stupidity regarding online saves is to blame, it has nothing to do with the actual game and can hit any game.

The things is, I have been transported to a save (lv 18) which was active like.. a month ago. Which means... in entire month of playing afterwards, the progress somehow still was not saved?

The only solution... which I would avoid, is to use the save game editor.
