Pretty much every game that involves teamplay has a rotten and toxic community. In my 10 years of gaming, I never felt so disgusted and disappointed, never found that much idiots in any game than those I've had the disgrace to play with in League of Legends. Never seen such toxic behavior, never felt so fucking frustrated and mad to the point I would just kick some of those idiots in the face and make them eat their keyboards.
I'm so friggin' pissed every time I play, I have to mute every single kid just to play on my own.

i feel you the online community sucks now, my first online game was MOH:AA(2002) and that was a really good community great teamplayers like in BF2 years ago all were playing the right way and teamp up even with random ppl. now you have to play alone in team mode games if yours friends are offline because random guys just suck

I blame it all on YouTube and Twitch, and most importantly e-sports, because every lame ass wannabe kid tries to emulate their idols, and of course they fail miserably. On top of that, they don't accept any criticism, so that leads to toxicity.
It's ok to try whatever strategy you saw, just don't panic and start blaming everything on someone else just because you're not at the same skill level of the person you're trying to imitate.

Add my vote to the League of Legends community. Now, I don't have anything to compare it with, that's the only online MP game I ever played, but boy was it a special experience... I got flamed and pretty sure reported as well for picking a jungler, when I was picking last and we had no jungler.
Quit playing it 2 years ago, never looked back.

Of course, you could be kicked for trolling when you are escaping :D

The Steam Gifts Gaming Group... Kappa
Just kidding, I honestly dunno that I've come across any that were particularly bad.
There is of course the mostly unhelpful and toxic communities found in most MOBAs, but that's expected to some degree.

Halo 3 and Halo: Reach on console always pissed me off. Every match there was always team killing trolls who kill teammates for weapons and vehicles. If they would release those on PC it wouldn't be as much of a problem. Too bad we will probably never see another Halo FPS on PC again.

Oh man... The Halo community... That alone made me glad I gave up on halo and traded in my 360. You would think the children would be the worst, but no. It's the entitled manchildren that make it terrible. I remember this one guy from somewhere in the EU was playing in the North America US East matchmaking, I think it was a SWAT hopper, and after his team lost the match, he sent me an incredibly angry and vicious voice message, calling me a 'fucking scrub', telling me to 'learn to DMR', and flat out accusing me of lagging the game. It's like, dude, you're in fucking Norway playing on North American matchmaking! Of course you're going to get a higher ping time. Don't come after me just because the person with the lowest score on my team [me, which honestly didn't say much given the skill of my teammates] was on par with him and I just so happened to kill him the most. Just fess up and take the loss.
Then of course you get the ones who think that anyone who displays a modicum of skill or manages to one-up somebody in some way needs to get laid. Case in point, in the middle of an Invasion match on Boneyard where our team had fallen back to the final point on defense, I 'stole' somebody's kill mid-assassination and getting a Yoink! medal in the process. The guy whose kill I denied became indignant and angry. I of course calmly told him to relax and reminded him it was just a game, and threw in a friendly chuckle. Guy proceeded to parrot my response in a mocking tone and some laughter probably intended to sound as though he thought I was 'retarded', and followed up by a "You need to fucking get laid." This prompted some laughter from the compadres in his party. Now, I could have left it as it was, but I was feeling pretty playful, so I said simply, "I was going to comment on the fact that usually the ones most concerned with who is getting laid has yet to get laid themselves, but then I was wondering why you're so fixated on the sex lives of other men. Sorry, but you aren't my type." Everybody on the team—including his friends, but not him—burst into laughter and he promptly clammed up.
Interestingly enough, before I started playing Halo Reach, I had a pretty high positive user rep. Keep in mind that I have never done anything 'unsporting' so long as I have played, because I honestly don't see the point in purposely being a dick. When I finally traded my 360 in, my user rep was 67% negative with almost all of that being 'Unsporting Conduct'. Three guesses where that actually comes from, and the first two don't even count.

lol, yeah dude. I had to file a lot of complaints on Shitbox 3Shitskee due to Halo multiplayer. Even though that doesn't do anything, it's the only way to feel better about those scumbag trolls.

I won't lie, though; if they actually did port the Master Chief Collection to the PC, I would probably buy it, if nothing else than to relive the campaigns.

In my experience, after playing many mmo games, mostly mmorpg, ant there were mostly, nice guys (except on the pvp areas). Ive tried one MOBA (Smite) these days. The difference there was brutal, almost no one wants to help, teach or have the patience. Its such an elitist community, stoped playing after 1 month trying to learn the mechanics, equips, builds etc. Its just not worth it. The game is nice, but the matchmaking and community are the worst i have ever experienced. Never again. People show their real face on these "competitive games".

I played LoL for a while and just gave up. No one wants to help teach you or anything and just shout abuse when you just wanna learn how to play the game. I haven't played it since.
Edit: Oh and Rust

TF2 and Left 4 Dead 2.
The community in general is not that bad but the people in it make it worse.
I played a Versus match in an Asian server and I was doing pretty good as a Hunter, but then when I killed the "community star" I got banned from the server. Probably the type that circlejerks with the mods of the group. Sad thing is they didn't mind when I killed the other players. The same thing happened on a few TF2 servers as well.
In my combined hours of gameplay it only happened a few times so it's not bad.

I don't know about the worst as many of them are terrible. But, so far, for me the best has to be Interstellar Marines. Ask a question, they answer. Differing opinion, no problem. Join a game without being great, that's ok you just need to learn. And, I've read no abuse on the community pages. To me, that's what a community should be, not squabbling children out to troll. Also, the game isn't half bad too.

League of Legends, by far.
Why? In League of Legends, especially in ranked you can get reported for multiple things that could get you banned.
People report you for, having a bad game - Like they never had any.
For not responding instantly to someones advices - Refusing to communicate with team.
If you dont do exactly what they tell you - Trolling
If you die too often - Feeding on purpose.
If you write something like - I think we lost - Negative Attitude.
If you dont play the game EXACTLY as the current meta tells you to - Biiiig troll.
Basically you are already reported when you create your League of Legends account. Also you get reported when you download the game. Be aware when you drive to the next supermarket to grab some food. Someone might call the police.
I wish a lot of cancer to this community.

Since i've just been kicked from one of the only active asian server on "Chivalry Medieval Warfare" for having a 12% friendly hit caused by lag spike (ping jumped from 110 to over 500 for 2 rounds) that caused me to decapitate one guy who always seem to be on this server. This made me wonder what's the worst multiplayer community you've come across to? And why?
I think CM places pretty high on the rotten community palmares, it was my first kick today, but i've seen people being kicked:
Coz their ping was higher than 150.
Because some guys who are always on the same server wanted to change a map but one dude didn't want to.
Because the team is loosing and they need to blame someone.
Coz a level <10 slashes when there's a melee with ennemies and allies (there's friendly hit on this game for the ones who don't own it)
These are pretty dumb reasons in my book, i think there's others but i can't remember atm.
Surprisingly CS:GO community isn't that bad, i always heard bad things about it, but i never had a problem so far on casual or competitive...
