SG, now 99% more group giveaways.
How can that be a bad thing? People are more likely to win in group giveaways.

Most of them being closed to public, for their friends and groupmates only. Let's all cheer on that circle of enclosed mutual adoration!
PS. In advance to anyone, who'll want to complain about my "contribution": I couldn't care less! Besides, all those private parties are not encouraging to start making giveaways.

It's not hard to get in groups at all. Hell, I almost never notice when there's a group giveaway because I'm already in most of them.

Giveaways for groups you're not a member of are hidden, so you're always a member of all the group giveaways you can see.
Doesn't mean you're in all giveaway groups.

People tend to make threads over the smallest stuff

I can see me at the top :)

I get it. Groups can be a bit Elitist and exclusive. Seems to go against the idea of giving. That said, if that was not the case there would be a huge amount of winners that are just, well, Vacuums to the community. Those that take, and do not put back. Which is fine, but would slowly kill the community. Groups are a way of adding extra effort, to get those people that contribute, who have specific sub-communities that they want to give too. Though yes, more often than not, when looking at winners of gifts it primarily falls into the "I'm in a group, and I've won over a dozen gifts, and have given little to nothing out." To me, this can be kind of sad.
The system isn't perfect, but that doesn't mean it isn't the best system available. Its a balance that is fueled by the users. If you take away the groups, you may take away any emotional connection to giving and receiving. Isn't that what this site is about? Community. Groups directly feed into that. Community. The fact that this site is not rampant exploitation is nothing short of amazing. It has flaws, but is still a benefit and a generous contribution to the community. (Speaking as a person that has never won anything in a group)

To me, I don't care if you've ever gifted anything or not if you're an active part of the community itself (chat and/or forum), but more importantly, a welcome part of the community, one who actually gives something to the community instead of being a constant negative influence on absolutely everything they touch.

Leechers -> People who want free stuff. I guess every one who enters giveaway is a leecher then.

LOL Like you would have better chances of winning if those would public giveaways.

I see it, I understand the OP's meaning, however..
This is a free service to get free games from people who -have- spent the money on it. It's hard for me to imagine ever getting upset when all the effort it takes to possibly win is clicking that mouse a few times. My advice is relax, man. Give your thanks when you should. And find better topics to talk about. I think I'm in a total of one group, and that's S.gifts on Steam. I still don't find any reason to complain about members of groups helping the other members.
All in all, though. Good day and good luck to all contestants.
PS: And as it's a lot easier to get invited if you -ask-, try letting others know you want in!
PPS: I want in!

Not to mention people, several groups that have dozens of giveaways per week are open to the public.

You can't be serious... I see plenty of public giveaways too and I hope it stays this way!
