I think so. I hope it turns out that every game will eventually get upgraded to Series 2 and Series 1 cards will no longer drop, thus increasing their value.

We will get more series.

One day there will be no new games to add cards, so Valve will start it from beginning, with series 2.

There will be no series 3, Gabe Newell can't count to 3.

I wonder whether series 2 cards will only drop for those who have already completed series 1?

It's hard to know if this approach would lead to more $$$ for Valve, with people scrambling to complete series 1 to get their hands on the more valuable series 2 cards, or whether those who hadn't already completed the first set would simply greet the new series with an ambivalent shrug, and not bother.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
