Which game are you gonna get if any?
Don't buy Mass Effect 2, it isn't the complete edition!

Its DLC is not only rather crucial to the plot (the intro of ME3 is even based on the events of one of the ME2 DLCs), but it has some of the best DLCs any video game ever had. They cut out some of the very best content to turn it into additional paid packages.

Exactly. For me, ME2 is not worth playing without the DLC characters.

From memory, because I didn't played it again since a very long time, there was a code for Cerberus network access (gives another character + related quest, also a small visit to the Normandy crash site, other things). Shadow Broker DLC is also a good one. Kasumi DLC was not bad, and there's also another one but I don't remember it. You can skip the items / skins DLC, of course.

Yes ! The DLCs from ME1 are quite meh, the Moon mission is correct but not essential (yes I know, there is some background for one of the characters of ME3 :p)
The DLCs of ME2 and 3 are awesome (well, I mean the story-related DLCs, not the skins/weapons/stuff garbage). Totally must-have. The feels in Citadel DLC... I still cry in the shower...
Even if the trilogy without DLCs was sold for 1$ on Steam, I think I wouldn't buy it. I wouldn't play it, so...

At least Dragon Age Origins is on Steam with all the DLCs. Why, whyyy didn't they do the same thing for Mass Effect ? :(
(Not available for everyone. In France, DAO Ultimate Edition can't be purchased. Only DAO alone and DAO Awakening. I had to pay a German fellow to get a DAO Ultimate gift for me).

There is but only on Origin if I can remember correctly.

Really? I just bought it as the bundle with 1 and 2. ME2 is labeled "Digital Deluxe" and has 3 DLCs packaged with it. If I check the store for more DLC, Steam says there is none.
Am I missing something?

+1 would like to know.
Edit: store description doesn't say anything about DLC and maybe the reason Steam says there is none is because there is none available on Steam (which is what folks are pointing out).

I did not personally pay for my ME 2 copy but I got all the DLC (few years ago) and have to agree the DLC really changed the game from "good" to "great".
Without the DLC for ME 2 there not too many memorable encounters or dialogs....there was only 1 good ME 1 DLC and even that was minor compared to the main game.

If anything they go on sell less often than before. Lots of publishers are greedy and don't have the discount percentages they used to or the publisher bundles.

Life of a game:
1 - Full price for people who but new releases
1 - Deluxe for people willing to spend more
2 - Progressively deeper sales for those who won't pay more
3 - Back to less generous sales for those late to the party and want the experience (e.g. bought newest game and wants to try the previous installments)
4 - Remake for those too young to go old-school

GTA V isn't worth it. When it gets down to $29.99, then it's worth it to me.

Seriously though, almost every big franchise has just out of nowhere gone on sale. Capcom, GTA V, Just Cause 3, Mass Effect series, and the Far Cry series. What the heck is going on? Am I missing something? I'm not complaining but it feels oddly weird to have so many games go on sale at once. Especially since most of these are decent discounts.
