they have RO2 for $5. they giveaway free games all the time which you can then trade in for cash credit on the site. They also sometimes(if you nice when you file for a support) give you free credit if you have a problem. i bought metro 2033 a couple weeks back when it was cheap but the discount didnt work and it purchased anyway so they added the difference to my bank and added it also to my site credit. so with a few free games and free credit i got RO2 for 25 cents. 25 cents! thats amazing!

really? they have tons of steam games. i never bought a game on their site that wasn't a steam code.

Well, I can't mention all non-Steam games, that have their Steam versions, because it would take too much time.

But I can tell that they only got 83 (eighty three) Steam games, including lots of DLCs.

From those 83, 80 are DLCs for Magicka and Civ V.

GamersGate (103+)

Amazon list on Steam forums is very outdated and Impulse one don't work, so I can't compare more.

You cannot argue with gamersgate - it's the biggets online game shop, with over 30k items they sell it's not that hard to get over 100 steam games. but without the sale deals when amazon added some steam versions of games (and i dont know if it wasnt just 1 time deal). GMG is still looking strong

Yeah I got the first RO and Dwarfs for free from the credit they hand out.

Great site.

I still have some credit left, but I prefered to just buy Dwarfs at that price, both because I loved what the devs did here and because I love GMG too with all their free stuff :) Actually, that was my first and only real purchase from them so far. But not the last, I guess.. :P

I'm baffled by their business model, but I love the deals I've managed to get through them.

Its basically the digital equivalent to gamestop. Except your not pressured into buying a "subscription". I hope they gain traction as Im sure its profitable and hope steam would start accepting trading ins. If they do im sure it would be only for games bought direct from them.

I don't mean the trade-in feature on its own, that part makes sense. What I'm confused by is how much free credit they give out in terms of free games and other stuff. I think I've spent a combined total of $1.50 buying 3 games from them, and I have another $5 in credit waiting to be spent.

Well, taking a stab in the dark id say either they have tighter margins, or perfectly planning loss leaders. The free games themselves are really old. So you could say they are basically the same as coupons that retail stores do. The actual credit feature (none trade in value) though seems odd. Might be a set budget? No idea.

I like them too, but I couldn't get those free games, because I'm in a public network. Support did not even gave me a coupon. You lucker ;)

GMG is awesome.

I bought a physical copy of Dragon's Dogma for the PS3 from them yesterday. The game came today in pristine condition with some free sweets (haribos). <3

I don't know if they ship anywhere else other than the UK since they're based in London.

Let us not forget how they suspend accounts with games on, refuse to let you get to the games you rightfully own, refuse to give you the credit in that account, and refuse to explain why. Trust me, It's not all good.

Question, can you buy a discounted game (Ex: Disciples II for $2 (instead of $20) and then wait a few weeks/months for it to be back up to $20 and then trade it in? Or can you only do that with free games?)

There should be a note under each title if it's available for trade-in. Most should be.

Keep in mind that you can't trade-in Steamworks games you buy from GMG.

The trade in value changes with time, but it's never close to the full price of the game. I can currently make one cent by trading in my copy of Deus Ex for $2, which I got for $1.99 (normal price $7.99), but I can't imagine you'll be able to make any significant amount of money this way, and even this is probably rare. (The trade-in value when I bought it was $1.50.)

If a game is say 80%+ off, are you essentially guaranteed to receive more trade in credit than you paid?

No. See my comment above regarding Deus Ex. Not to mention games with ridiculously low trade-in value like Deus Ex Invisible War ($0.20).
