I don't trust those guys. Also it seems they're just trying to get the IP since at least its better for them instead of just making a new IP.

This.
I don't see any reason to give the Homeworld franchise to these nobodies developing for mobile phones and tablets. They're just trying to get their hands on a highly recognisable brand name, and they're trying to make their customers pay for it.

Just look at the guy's site:
Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in any way...

Okay. I guess only thing left is to see how will indiegogo respond to this scam they're running...
Just saw this:
How you can report a fraudulent campaign:
If you see a campaign that you believe to be fraudulent, you can inform us immediately by flagging the campaign as prohibited content. Simply click on the "prohibited content" link located beneath every campaign's Perks, or send us a note at support@indiegogo.com.
Report is located on right side, just below the whole contribute thing. It's small red letters - "Let us know"

They're attempting to use the money they raise to buy the rights from THQ.

Surprised more people aren't enthusiastic about this. Relic hasn't touched the IP in over 10 years and nobody has really expressed interest in revitalizing the series.
I'd rather see the games brought on Steam or GoG at least instead of letting it rot in limbo like System Shock.

No. That money should be used to create a new game.

Same here, would it come from a well known / trustable source in a kickstarter project, I'd most likely jump on it. Not the case with a team I do not know with a rather vague presentation.
50K $ seems quite low to acquire the Homeworld franchise too.

I'm sure it's just my perspective, but it seems to me that the studio name is too similar to Daisuke Amaya's, perhaps to trick people.

+1 rep for informing us. BUT isn't this a scam. I don't want to be scamed.

I don't usually post these kinds of things, but I figured it was important!
TeamPixel needs $50,000 in the next 12ish days to save the series and put it back in gamer hands. Not only will they try and bring the Homeworld series to Steam and GOG for free, but they will also be developing Homeworld 3.
Please help them out!
Dont let Homeworld die!
Goals:
$50,000 - Our minimum goal. To us, this is only the beginning of our mission together.
$100,000 - We'll release Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm, and Homeworld 2 on GoG.com and Steam for free. FREE! This means no one else on the planet will have an excuse for never having played the series!
$250,000 - Homeworld Classic on Touch Devices will show up on the Apple App Store and Google Play Marketplace for free for the first month. We'll e-mail all of our contributors when it's available, so you can all snag it at no charge.
$500,000 - Still want more Homeworld before the next big game? We'll begin exploring bringing Homeworld: Cataclysm and Homeworld 2 to mobile devices just like Homeworld Classic.
$750,000 - Thank you, thank you, thank you! If we can reach this goal, we will have proven to the industry that the series is definitely alive and well. Every contributor to this campaign will receive a copy of Homeworld 3 when it is completed!
