like you couldn't run it or it didn't work or something like that

Since the last ATI driver update, a lot of games are unplayable for me because certain models have their vertices stretched all over the place. Imagine Skyrim, except every person has triangular holes in them at random, and occasionally bits of them stretch up to twenty feet away. I once spoke with a guard whose lips were displaced across the street. Then there's that first dragon encounter... or at least, I had to assume it was a dragon because that's what everyone was screaming. All I saw was a black cloud of disassociated polygons. And that's not the only example. Sword of the Stars II, I can't lower the settings. Quantum Conundrum, I can't turn off the 'blur' effect when you turn your camera, and my PC -hates- those. My PC also hates shadows, so any game with shadows I can't turn off--forget it.

Painkiller: Black

Not sure why. Maybe the game is just too old to play on a new computer.

It was a while ago so I can't remember exactly. I do remember that it didn't run too fast, it just didn't get past the title screen. I think I'd get a few logos and the title screen then it would crash. At the time, I searched for an answer but nothing seemed to work. The game looks interesting so I might have to re-install and try again.

Mirrors edge. I could play it, but it ran at around 10 FPS. So I later bought it on the xbox when I got one.

Empire: Total War. The bugs and atrocious load times deflated any drive to play it. Now that it's all fixed I'm pretty hooked!

Yeah, the Steam detection issue is pretty annoying on the first Flatout.
There's a fix for it, but you need to do it every time you wanna play... totally kills the desire to play.

COD: Black Ops had the worst release ever for me. Even after a month after release I still had freezes every 5seconds (not related to my hardware), still finished the campaign though.
Diablo 3, couldn't log in for the first 2 days, because the people from Blizz didn't thought of buying some more severs.

Pretty much my whole library can't be played decently. I have to play most of the games on low settings, and some of them even work so bad on ultra low settings (ie BioShock 2, AvP, Borderlands). And I'm playing SR3 cause it's a damn fun game, otherwise it would sit there in my library without getting played, cause even on low settings doesn't run so smoothly.

I got Zeno Clash for free during the Christmas giveaway last year... It I found out about this site sooner, I would've given it away. I don't like it (I love the style of gameplay, but the character models are too weird for me to even look at). I guess I would be too late anyway. I would've opened it either way to see what it was like :/

Sims 2 when it first came out. It needed a crack to work... -_-

And F.E.A.R 2 - while it did work for a day, it got stuck on an update that I didn't want... and the update was stuck on 1%. >.<

I also had a lot of trouble with Skyrim when I first got it - but it's playable.

I've had more, I generally have bad luck when it comes to buying games. Usually when it's either published by EA or when you buy a retail steam version of a game. >.< Not to mention, I refuse to buy games that limit the amount of activations you can use. Fair enough if it refreshes and you get say 3 back a week, but to have 3 and only 3, it's an annoyance.

Just reminded me, JC:2 was hit and miss for me, depending on how much action was on screen but all the cutscenes played like ABSOLUTE WANK. After 4 or 5 of them I'd had too much and stopped playing. I've upgraded my PC since them and won some DLC earlier this week; I was hoping to play it this weekend but I've spent most of it at the in-laws' place. : /
