Unfortunately, it's a GMG key.

GreenManGaming absolutely refuses to do anything involving multiple accounts, accidental or otherwise- they claim that this violates their ToS (it actually doesn't, they just creatively interpret one line of it), and exempts them from any obligations whatsoever, related to the entire purchase you made.

So best not even to bring it up.

Also worth noting that GMG does not guarantee keys will work after 7 days from purchase, so always redeem them before then (Also not listed in ToS, based on creative interpretation of their refund policy)

Likewise, GMG refuses refunds if the game ends up being for a different platform (GOG, Steam, DRM-Free, etc) than you expected, so be extra careful reading over every part of product entry for signs that the entry is mislabeled.

Thanks for that, I contacted Steam so hopefully they can do something.

Hopefully. I know Steam typically disavows responsibility for games activated from sources other than steam store purchases, but you might get lucky :/

Since you're contacting them right off, and it's an account-ownership transfer, you might have a shot..? =O
