Really i've been participating in a lot of giveaway in this site. I haven't got a single one. Not one. Maybe in two years not a single one.

touching the green "enter the giveaway!" button doesn't mean you are going to win... do people even try to do the math?

Well. I have better things to do than FARMING giveaways. I have won several giveaways from other sites. Yeah sure, 89 entries isn't much. Well it is enough to frustrate someone who has over 200 games on steam and more on PS Plus and retail. Sometimes i feel like i have contributed a whole lot to the industry and maybe a free game or two is something i've earned. But apparently not.

It also seems like we have very intelligent people here.

free games aren't something you should complain about, and im sure whatever you luck god you worship probably doesn't like the humbleness of your self announced earnings. If you don't have time to "farm" giveaways perhaps you don't have free time to play your already huge library of games :P

The problem here is that we here at steamgifts are not the entire gaming industry, and no matter how much one contributes towards any subject they are never entitled to free things unless by contract or by charity. Much less when you haven't contributed to the group you are expecting free things from.

It's not really "farming" giveaways at all. This is pretty much a lottery that costs nothing to enter, but there are only two results to each ticket : Win nothing, or win the jackpot. The odds are similarly slim, and I believe with the steamgifts plus thing it even calculates your chances. A popular game with plenty of entries only gives you a 0.01% to win. One with very few entries can be 1% chance of winning, but consider that the other people entering are human beings too. What you feel you have contributed to some industry does not elevate you beyond the other hopefuls here. Your mention of being here 'maybe two years' means little when you don't really enter for anything.

The fee for entering is simply the time spent to click on what you want to enter. I don't really see this as something bad, even despite the low odds. It's driven by charity. Sometimes out of good will purchases, other times out of people giving away spare copies or unwanted extras.

I can understand your frustrations, but really if you don't enter, you can't win. It's like asking for advice but then neglecting to read the replies. Just make it a part of your internet routine, like checking emails or discussions on social media. Come to steam gifts, click through a few of the front pages and enter some of the ones you like, and then forget about it. You can do it whenever you get online, or once a week or something. Same difference. Painless and quick. 89 giveaways isn't much in that respect at all. Especially not for the amount of time you've been registered here. Consider how many clicks you casually perform in a half-hour even without focused intent, or how many you make in even 3 minutes of gaming. Being unable to make more than 90 entry clicks in almost two years is not a fault of this site, community or industry. You have to help yourself, here. We can't do it for you.
