Deluxe Edition owners get a Buddy Pass that allows them to invite other players who don't own the game, I think this is what's being volunteered for.

idk if you can still use the coupon but its just called "E3" and it adds on top of the discount. Works with both editions. I would've gotten the deluxe if I knew I needed a friend to play with tho

That would be nice. Though first, i should read how the guest pass works, just to make sure it won't get associated with one account, blocking you from enjoying it with your friends.
