Have you ever cheated on a Steam game?
I honestly don't get cheating at MP games. Cheating a single player game to get past a choking point, ok. I mean if you try and not cheating wastes the rest of the game for you, fine. Cheating to get achievements or trophies, no point since you know you didn't earn them.
But cheating at MP games where... you don't win anything, right? There's no all-paid trip around the world or life-time supply of pizza, no money or dream computer at the end of that rainbow, right?
What's the point? Competing for bragging rights against other cheaters? Meh.

Well, I already cheated in the past, using autokill in Grand Chase to level up fast, so i could PVP with different characters(Didn't cheated on PVP, of course).
I also did cheated in some Idle games, but than, i become an achievement hunter(not as big), and removed all the achievements for games that I used any cheat(I hope I didn't forgot about anyone), I always play fair.
In my conception, cheating only should be allowed when this is a feature of the game.
There are lots of games with a Cheating list.
I remember when I played GTA Vice City in my PS2 for my first time.
I beated the game using all kind of cheatings it had.
Than, when i played GTA San Andreas, I finished the hole playthought without using any single cheating and, when I was bored, I used some cheats, but never overwriting my game, especially because GTA San Andreas did track how much cheats I had used, and I wanted that number to be 0.
Aaaaah, there is another thing.
I don't think using macros is cheating.
Like, I use a macro in my razer mouse to use some itens in Midas Gold Plus when I go to the bathroom, for example, so when i get back, I have more diamonds than before.
I think this is not cheating, because I'm automating a task, but I'm not changing any value of the game to do it.
So that's it.

I agree with you, but I would also argue that if a player wants to tweak that game, they can. It doesn't affect me at all.
And to tell you the truth, remember that tree you had to grow (don't know if that's in there anymore on the new versions..)?
I ''cheated'' the hell out of that. All else was done in the game, I just wanted a ridiculously high tree - but did not want to grind for a million years to get there...

I have never cheated in a multiplayer game, but when it comes to singleplayer, everything is about my own gaming experience. As a result, I consider changing the carrying capacity in Deus Ex: HR or Witcher 3 as modding and not cheating. Another example would be fixing bugs in RPG maker games, like when the description doesn't match the effect, spells using the wrong ressource or when an event isn't triggered.
When I increase the item drop rate of monsters, it doesn't make the game easier but harder, since instead of the mindless farming for crafting material I can continue with the next area in exchange for having a lower level party.

No, I have balls to play fair at any conditions.
Cheats on = balls off.

Cheats can be a wonderful tool to spice up otherwise boring games, or just make it easier to play the way you prefer, be it just different, or straight up godmode.
Necrovision is a boring game that's ugly, I constantly got stuck in the body of enemies, and just... eh. But with invincibility and constantly replenishing shovels (throwing weapon!) it's just super fun to go forward, summon fireballs and throw shovels into the enemies. If I'll even get Fallout 3 in a fully working order, I plan to just give myself a railway rifle with like infinite railway spikes and use it only that, because that's an awesome weapon. Not every game limits weapon choices in s sensible way, like Fallout NV's throwing weapons are kinda strong, but.. not really. And there are super low amounts of it, like every 4th shop selling max 2-3 pieces of non-recoverable throwing knife, hatchet or tomahawk. In cases like this, cheating (or modding, though they are technically the same) can open up new gameplay options and fun activities.
Haven't cheated in multiplayer I think.. maybe some little fun ones like bighead mode and similar, fun for a bit type of cheats with friends in local coop or similar games. Never for breaking the game / winning it.

I cheated once in Warcraft 3 Dota map, downloaded maphack, it was 2007 or 2008, and I deleted it 2 weeks later because I played worse with it, not sure how many of you know Dota or anything about it, but maphack makes things visible where it should be dark (fog) and usually enemy forest is dark and there are lot of places where enemy can be, without maphack I would sometimes go and try to find enemy there "gank" him if I see that he is not on his lane or anywhere visible on map, but with maphack I would know where he is and instead of ganking him I wouldnt because in my head i just couldnt go there and kill him because maphack showed me where he is, so I stayed on lane to farm, and after 2 weeks I learned that without maphack I would probably go thru woods find enemy and kill him but with maphack I wouldnt because I didn't want to be obvious and I guess hacking was never for me, I felt bad. That was my only time when I cheated but on end even during these 2 weeks I think all I did is cheated myself.
Year later I downloaded program that would help me find hackers in Dota and I played in big community, I watched replays, checked suspect movements and clicks and then sent reports for maphackers in that community on their forum very often and helped them clean that place, it was nice place to play old WC3 Dota.

Does cheating include typing IDSPISPOPD some 25 years ago?

Yes the worst kind of cheating. You mean for real you used codes in game that the developers had put in themselves so you could use it to bypass game mechanics for a while? You used a feature? Shame on you.
That's just as bad as those cheating modders that make map mods for games. I would hammerban the lot for cheating if I could!
;-)

95.000 VAC bans in seven days.
Comments on that?
(As pointed out the questionnaire does not differentiate between single player games and multiplayer games - which have very different connotations in regards to cheating. So to clear up; The questionnaire is about online multiplayer games.)
