My steam account has been hacked and is apparently sending fishing links, do not click on anything. I still have no idea how that shit happened, I contacted the support, meanwhile pay attention to anything that offers you a game for free through my account or another, there have been a LOT of request of people contacting support to recover their account, leak ? Anything else ? I honestly have no idea, but it doesn't cost anything to send out a reminder.

Addendum : To avoid any further problem I locked my account, you should no more receive messages from my steam account.

Alright, I got my account back, did a video to explain how to LOCK your account to stop any possible trade of your personal items but my accent / English is so horrible that I have to voice it over for it to be bearable. Once done I'll make a new topic explaining how to LOCK your account since the articles just state that your items are lost forever but don't explain how to avoid that (which I found crazy).

I checked my history, I didn't click any link where I had to put my steam credential, even less my steamguard code. Steam is avoiding my questions on what could have happened, I guess we'll never know...

Glad to hear that you got your account back, my friend.

And to the one who had control of it for a bit? Well, I hope that karma turns around and bites them in the butt!

yeah unluckily these days I got 3-4 messages redirecting to some weird website, I think it ended with .pw.. anyways the messages came also in Chinese only.. it's clear that they were all stolen accounts, I had a similar issue too years ago.. I'm extremely happy you got everything back!

There is no issue getting it back if he remembers his first email and a few informations easy to find such as the last keys he put on the account, it's just a slow process as they receive a lot of tickets for stolen account every day.
