Forgotten sands is fun, but EXTREMELY short. I did 1000g (xbox :D) in 1day/half. I had to beat the game 5 times due to a bugged cheevo, and I ended beating the full game in 45 minutes (skipping almost every single battle, just running/jumping). Story is ok, graphics ok, soundtrack good+. It's a shame because the combos/spells/gameplay is actually good, but it has zero replayability and too little secrets to find out, in fact there are only two or three hard to spot ones ( one of them is kinda funny, as you would never guess it's there unless you suicide yourself :P )

The "Sands of Time Series" is by far the best.
Sands of Time was very short but it's one of my all-time favourite games from the previous gen.
Warrior Within set up a lot more darker tone to the series with more gore, violence, action and music.
Two Thrones was a return to the scenic landscapes and locations of the Prince's home, Babylon but kept the combat of WW.
"Forgotten Sands was forgettable" is what my best friend told me when the title came out. He said I should wait for when it's on a really cheap sale and then try it out. It is set between Sands of Time & Warrior Within but he did tell me that it was a 'good fair' game. Nothing groundbreaking or 'oh wow dis is teh bestest gaem evar!' worthy. And well, it's on sale for £3. So if you do want it, buy it.
Prince of Persia (2008) was a nice title with stunning visuals and great platforming/exploration/adventuring with good characters and a gripping storyline but it can wait purely for the reason that... sighs the ending was more than sub-par and disappointing and there is no real 'ending' to the game. Ubisoft left it hanging and did not release the PoP2008 DLC which is available on the PS3 / Xbox 360. Even after YouTube'ing the DLC, I realised that it did not really add anything other than the fact that all the choices you make result in nothing and the story is just left as is. Ubisoft never finished the title nor made any continuation of it. It's a real shame. But if you take into account the progression of the game and the locations / pace / setting, PoP 2008 was gripping and I was hooked when I played it. It's only the fact that I know how it ended off which is what got me disheartened to play it again. 7/10
Go ahead and purchase Two Thrones. The reason for this being that it's the 'finale' in the Sands of Time trilogy and the new duality aspect of the Prince (after being infected with the Sands of Time) and him being able to turn into the 'Dark Prince' was something new. Not to mention the areas where you actually can be stealthy and do fast takedown kills. That was great. Come to think of it the PoP series was slowly evolving and you can really see how it heavily influenced Assassin's Creed.
In a nutshell: Buy Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. You won't regret it. Great visuals, appealing storyline, returning familiar characters (but they do come back... with a twist, I won't say how they are different :p) and it brings closure to a series that really had me gripped from the first SoT title when I played it all those years ago on my Nintendo Gamecube.

I hope my... "community feedback" was thorough enough. I am a PoP nutter as well... just saying :p

I'm thinking about grabbing the 2k8 PoP. The graphics look purdy but the gameplay is supposed to be really simplified and repetitive compared to the rest of the series. Though I enjoyed AC1 - which received similar criticisms - so I'm not sure that would bother me.

Go for it, and don't listen to the haters, it's a great game. The combat isn't much of the hardcore chain combos and cut enemies in half, but you can still create cool variations with the AI partner, and it does look badass. Platforming is great, story as well, voiceovers are fun. Saying that you can't die is also just a bullshit excuse not to buy the game. You can't "die", but you can fail. A lot. The game just eliminated the loading screens, that is all.

on steam, there is an assortment of prince of persia games, sands of time and warrior within are out of the question because i already own them and have beaten them on ps2, so instead of just comparing metacritic scores i'd like some community feedback! here are the choices: two thrones, forgotten sands, and "prince of persia." fyi: i value a good story, good graphics (gameplay doesn't matter since i liked the first two so i'm bound to like these. thanks!
