CLICKY

Space Engine - A free space simulation program that lets you explore the universe in three dimensions, from planet Earth to the most distant galaxies. Areas of the known universe are represented using actual astronomical data, while regions uncharted by astronomy are generated procedurally. Millions of galaxies, trillions of stars, countless planets - all available for exploration. You can land any planet, moon or asteroid and watch alien landscapes and celestial phenomena. You can even pilot starships and atmospheric shuttles.

Damn, I've been seeing that one popping up in the forums lately. I'd like to try it, but the download size is a pain...
I'll have to install it sometimes eventually.

Still, Crysis 1

Nuff said.

This game melted Hardware in 2007, and still does, if you allow it to, in 2014.

One of the best looking games on PC all around, and, perfectly scalable nowadays.

Also, the first half of it, was a great sandbox FPS

Yes, Crysis is one of my favourite games, and as you said, it has a really beautiful graphic!

I would say Outerra looks better with more detail, although not as grand a scale. People are actually making games out of Outerra though!

Nice, looking good.

I've just been having a quick blast on The Distance. Was loving the visuals, it was sexy. The gameplay was fun too.

This should be funded by an university and be open source...

There is also a planetarium called Stellarium for free.
