Yes and no. I found a photo of the canyon that fitted more or less with colors i liked, cut and pasted part of it to fit, then blurred it a whole lot just to keep the colors blotches, did some more correcting to fit the lines, a few more filters and a texture and... there you have it.
It started as a weird experiment but i liked the result enough to use it as my submission.

Nnot really it's totally canvas style! But since I'm bad at drawing I'll say I mixed pixel art to justify the lines :D

Truth is, I wasn't sure of Simba's position at the moment of this event ^^; and I was too lazy to check =P
At first I wanted to put something like this (see pic) back at the horizon line (thus removing all the white left) but then I had a "flash" of him being between those gnus (were they gnu? I should really check..) -_-
