Am I supposed to dig through old threads and/or assume that people really verbally attacked you? I think if you make a thread it would be reasonable to provide at least a modicum of context so it is self contained rather than asking people to make assumptions and insult random people.
Yes, people can ask questions, but in my opinion you didn’t even provide the most basic info, so it is unreasonable to expect others to invest much effort. During my not so long stay in this website I’ve only been confronted by one odd person who ranted nonsense but that is it.

I don't know what happened in other threads but I'm just here to say take a breath, there are always entitled douchebags in every community but from my (limited) time and experience here, it's a good community in the largest part. So don't let a few rotten apples spoil it for you. If you give the place a chance, you will get to know people and they'll get to know you You will make friends here. I'm not saying it's a community free of trolls because they're everywhere (who is minding all the bridges is what I'd like to know!) but all the people I've encountered here are good natured folks with a lot of humor and heart, who are here like you to make friends and share games. So welcome to the circus and I hope you stay a while.

this poll was created by a newbie for a better community as this newbie has been verbally attacked 6 times and I've been a member on this site for one day in hopes of giving away free games and making new friends, go figure, is there just not enough hate in the world for the trolls I just like having great games and good friends is that to complicated for some folks?
