Since I made a review of this magazine, for this is the Police, I was curious to see how the graphic designers would do with my review. First page, I see the main character in blue with a red background of the city. Mmm. Nice! I turn the page and... another edition for another part of the review? It has a background of paper clips, and tape, which is about clues and investigations. Ok, the designer IS good. Third page, wait, the designer changed AGAIN. It seems to be a newspaper, correct, since each day always starts with the main character reading the news. Impressive. A new page, ANOTHER CHANGE!!! Now it's a map of the city, and again, it first with what I'm writing, the main character sees the city and move its officers.
I think my review it's good, but the design is superb. I would like to congratulate to all the editors, and all the graphic designers for their work. They are amazing. Specially in my case, I would like to congratulate the graphic designer of my review. He did a hell of a job.

I played through it a few months ago and I mostly agree, though to me the positives (cuteness, minigames) outweigh the negatives (the empty world, the boring quests).
And as for the gender stuff, I kinda expected this game to mostly have female characters. And it fits the world well (and so do the non-binary and male characters), so I give them a free pass for the imbalance.
Also, for me personally I really enjoyed the creative effects of the various potions (e.g., changing the sizes of the animals, the visual effects, etc ...). And I also kind of enjoyed following the story (Owl club, etc ... ).

The minigames were mostly fun, and honestly maybe what I liked the most. To be fair, I'm not the kind of player who likes decorating my café in detail, so maybe that part was lost on me :x
About the emptiness... Someone in the sgm discord said something like "its amazing how something so aggressively cute could end up feeling so soulless", and it resonated with me. If the game wasn't so sweet, it would feel less aggravating how empty it is, but this is what we got.
I guess I had heard more about the inclusion aspect than I should have, so that's why the gender part gave me such whiplash.
The owl club was fun! Definitely the peak of the story, which once again convinces me that Calico peaked too early.

Please click on this for the "Magazine Experience". The recommended method to discover and flip through the magazine's pages! I highly recommend using your headphones while going through the magazine, as the sound effect of flipping the page is really wholesome. Also, keep in mind, for easier navigation use "Control" + scroll wheel to easily zoom in and out on the pages. You can also hold left click to drag around the page. It just makes it easier and more satisfying to read this way :)
I will add a simple PDF version with a much higher quality of the page, but that version will be available later.
