Achievements...
It's a compulsion thing, but I'd probably enjoy games more if I didn't see/have achievements. I feel compelled to 100% games, where if they weren't there or visible I'd probably move on to other games faster and enjoy the whole thing more.
It just annoys me to see a % game completion number...

Change your thinking, instead of thinking you need to 100% games, do it only to explore different parts of the game, or if you want to spend more time in the game. Be a slave to the numbers no more!

By design they are bad if your goal is achievement hunting, but if you are having fun, then who cares ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I probably didn't explain my reason well, you are correct, but it's a convenient excuse for the player to spend more time in the game even if they ran out of goals themselves.

I'm guessing this was a joke comment, but stuff like that doesn't change that easily. Maybe I'm the exception to the rule though.
It can be forced off for individual games, but that mindset will continue to follow me. I like achievements, but they can also be a massive timesink and a fun-vacuum.

I thought the last sentence would give it away that it's not that serious of a comment. It's definitely a tricky situation, on one hand you go to a game expecting to relax, have a good time and not worry about life. And on the other hand you fear trying out new things that you might find to be fun so you stick with this one "good" thing in life with these time sinks even if it's no longer fun. People are silly like that.

i need to read about it next weeks. Perhaps if i release all curating infos about completion times and achievements difficulty only as informative it listed on store page of the game without affecting the main store page? and mark only not recommended the games with broken achievements where the developer dont even care fixing them?

Depends on what kind of audience you want to target your curation at. I guess most people will not mind informative entries, except for achievement hunters (reads "those who welcomes achievement spam games with red carpet") who might want to know what games are easy to get lots of achievements.

If you mark any curation as informative i can assure you that it wont give your followers recomendations only infos on the store page.
The group forUncut uses the curator like this.
All the curations from them are only flagged as informativ, you see those on the store page/activitie feed and thats it.
So as long as you recomend anything i wont follow your curator out of the same reason nhahtdh mentioned.
But if you switch to informative, then i will have a reason to follow you curator.

only recommandations a problem or not recommended aswell?
changed all recommended to informative, do i need not recommended to change to informative aswell? if not i planing to do not recommended games with broken acheivements but if developer cant even create working acheivements you can know how quality the game is:-)

First, i find your generell intention very good and i would appreciate Informations on the store page regarding achievements.
Personaly i would like to see for anything just informative but it is your party.
Since not recommended is also only visible on the storepage as well, it would not hinder me to follow the curator if you like to use informative and not recommended.
Edit: Oh i see you changed that allready :) (One Follower more)

Since I'm not an Achievement Hunter, this is a bump.

I like to get achievements but the rare ones and hard to achieve ones not like those in Zup and some other shitty games

I like achievements. I've played through games I wouldn't have otherwise for them. I've also delayed playing games that didn't have them.
And nothing bothers me more than finishing a game, getting all the achievements, only to find some months later that an update added some more.

Whatever did we do in the times before Steam achievements?
Oh, wait... we played games just for the heck of it. And bragged to our real-life friends (since there was no internet). And for multiplayer (or bragging) we had to ... physically walk to our friend's house. Cruel and barbarian times! Especially in winter... :D
Best of luck with your curator group! :)

Hello,
I am not looking desperately for followers for my curator group, but it could be useful for some who like to get all achievements in their games, so it's just an intorduction to the public about the group.
http://store.steampowered.com/curator/30168383-Average-Achievement-Hunter/
by following it you will have information on steam store pages about completion time, about how difficult to 100% a game. Yes, there are sites which fulfill this task, but astats has a lot of downtimes sometimes and I always missed such feature on the steam store (also some information about difficulty, which might be still subjective, but still some hint)
While I highlighted a few spam or no effort games I try to add information only for games with minimal play value as if you see a game with 5k achievements then you should know anyway that it's only an assetflip anyway which just selling free achievements. Go ahead real games!:-D
Not using recommended on games by this curator so your overall main store page won't be messed up by following this curator, only informative curator reviews so you will see it only on the game store page to see the information about completion times, etc.
This curator highlight games probably just for a low percentage of player base but it still could be useful for some.
My goal is to provide this information for all the games (with achievements). Please keep in mind that I keep up highlights only for games available in the steam store so I keep removing removed games. Since recently I try to link highlights to my own reviews as sometimes 200 characters available for curators far from enough to explain what you can expect from a game achievementwise.
Past invite only giveaways which were available only in this topic:
