As title, I guess because sometimes ago I tried the free base version of the game.

(NOTE! I didn't play the game during the free weekend! I tried the trial version! Quote by wiki "On 6 February 2013, a free to play version of War of the Roses was released. Anyone can download the game from steam without cost. The trial version will include...")

Now even if I had deleted it since a long time and it doesn't appear in my library I can't enter its giveaways because 'Exists in Your Account'.

Already tried to sync my account several times.

Beside getting angry (already missed many ga due to free keys given recently by paradox), what can I do?

Edit: In the meanwhile, FOR THE LULZ

This. It's a change Steam made about a year ago and there's nothing we can do about it. If you play a game, you'll be unable to join giveaways for it in the two weeks before it's gone from your recently played list. If you don't play it, just don't sync your account during a free weekend and you'll be fine.

How long ago was the free weekend?

28 of february, according to a rapid search on google.

But I didn't play it when it was on the free weekend, before this new version called 'war of the roses - kingmaker' there was the possibility to play the base game without paying (you received only half exp, couldn't unlock other weapons and so on).

Edit: "On 6 February 2013, a free to play version of War of the Roses was released. Anyone can download the game from steam without cost. The trial version will include..."

same problem here, also had this problem with Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter when i played its demo (now i own it from humble sale) and still have the same problem with cs:go (but different from war of roses it doesn't appear on my "all games" list, instead only on the "recently played"-list, but with 0 hours the last 2 weeks, war of the roses:kingmaker only appears on my "all games" list not on the "recently played"-list) re-sync doesn't help

Yeah I am having the same problem with War of the Roses. I played during the Free weekend event and now I will never be able to enter into a give away for that game. (Now it's War of the Roses: Kingmaker) And Resyncing doesn't help its still there staring me in the face making me wonder if I should have ignored the free weekend. (But WoTR was amazing and fun to play!)

go to your Steam\SteamApps\common\ folder and just delete War of the Roses THEN sync your account
if there's a folder that's probablu cause of your problems... but you should have them in games library (demos are... I don't know about free weekend versions but as I said - delete forlder - I'm sure it is (mine from Civilization V is))

As long as it's in your profile games list you won't be able to sync out of it, unfortunately. I am unsure if Steam Support can do something about it and it should have been removed from there quite a while ago, considering the free weekend for it was ages ago. When/If it gets removed, then it will be removed from your synced games here as well.

Edit : Also, it's not even on the recent games, it's on your "All games" tab as most owned games :/

Weird, because it doesn't appear in my library.

However, I want to underline I didn't play it during the free weekend, I tried it when the base game was available for free - you could just upgraded to the full complete game.

Quote by wikipedia "On 6 February 2013, a free to play version of War of the Roses was released. Anyone can download the game from steam without cost. The trial version will include access to most online servers enabling aspiring warriors to fight alongside all existing players – paid or trial. The trial version will limit players by disallowing any unlocks, giving access only to the game’s base classes and weapons, giving trial players a chance to live true knighthood. Trial players will have access to only two of the game modes; TDM and Conquest. Trialists will gain xp and gold at 80% of the full rate, however this will increase to 100% when they buy the game. Trialists have access to all public servers, however private server can choose whether or not to accept them".

Still, SteamGifts can only check your profile and not your library, thus a lot of games/DLC who don't appear there don't get added to your sync list either and issues like these occur.

SteamGifts isn't pulling information from your computer.. lol

No - but steam is and since those two accounts are connected how exactly do you want to manage steamgifts problem without touching Steam? And btw. that method works for me but unfortunatelly not for war of roses (I just bought it on sale) - it may be the problem you suggested in the post below between demo/DLC and steam lost itself in that maze of data ^^

If you go back and take a look at your original suggestion, it clearly states "go to your Steam slash SteamApps slash common folder and just delete War of the Roses THEN sync your account" which implies that after you delete something from your computer, you should sync as SteamGifts would be aware. Unless you somehow thought that the deletion would instantaneously be pushed through Steam servers and clear the recently played entry. :p

I have multiple Steam accounts that I use for TF2 idling and they share the same common folder as my main Steam account. I can attest to the games showing up in the client's library as they are scanning the same folder, but I assure you they will not just randomly show up in the recently played without you playing them and will not be removed after you deleted the common folder.

If you want to download a demo, show me the recently played, delete it from your computer and then show me how it disappeared from your recently played I'd love to see it, otherwise yeah.

I don't know why some people bother posting when they clearly don't have a clue what they're talking about. I'd rather see no one try to help than 10+ replies of pure bullshit and stupidity.

War of the Roses is split into two pieces, one is the free demo which is essentially the base game and then there is a DLC which unlocks the rest. I would assume the free demo is still tied to your account and will require you to contact Steam Support to have them remove it.

This, SG can't do anything about it. Even if they could this wouldn't be the place to post it.

Thanks for the point, although I think it's very weird that SG can't distinguish the free demo from the full game, as it's weird for steam that dat demo still figures in my profile game list.

We can only work with the API Steam gives us. The way they handle some things gives us no end of trouble, and this is a good example of that.
