I go beyond a thank you, I usually add a longer thank you and start up a conversation for a few minutes. I'll keep them on my friendslist and game with them in tf2 if they're on it.

In effort to make up for that rude person, I thank you for being kind enough to gift away games. I know that if I had games to gift I would be with you gifting all the way. There are those of us out there that realize the beauty of this site and cannot fathom how many people have the kindness that you share. I hope that this one bad experience does not turn you off from gifting altogether, for there are many out there who do appreciate you.
Thank you motorphetamine.

No matter what i won i always certify to thank the person enough,Games cost money, people work to get their money so i believe nothing is free here and at least the people deserve a Thank you

I would send a thank you message if I won something, but I haven't got any thanks apart from people in the comments. I've only had one giveaway, the winner didn't comment or get in touch after I sent the gift, but I don't really mind. If I happens every time I might end up getting a little jaded, but what can you do?
Got a chat through on Steam to say thanks :)

Yes, people on this site could be rude.
They fail to remember that we're using our money to buy something for the community and assume that they (the winner) deserves to get something back from winning a raffle they paid nothing for.
Also, I think that every winner of a raffle should contribute back to the community in some way. Constantly entering raffles and not giving anything away is pretty greedy.
I've already given away a few games, and am stockpiling more games to give away, but not until I know that I'm giving away games to people who can appreciate it. I know they may not play it because of their busy schedule, but showing kindness back to the person that spent money on you never hurts.
I wouldn't mind joining a community for this (as I also enter raffles myself), just can't find one yet that enforces giveaways. Even though giving away gifts isn't a problem for me, entering a community page with enforcement is defeating the purpose of gifting.

Sorry, I'm new here. So I don't know if you get a lot of posts like this or not.
But I have recently gifted someone the game they won, which they have accepted, without any kind of thank you or anything in reply. It wasn't an expensive game or anything, but what pisses me off is that manners cost nothing. So they seem like an ungrateful little shit to me.
Anyway, rant over. So my question being, does this happen often?
