why are you looking for a specific Voltage range when shopping for speakers? i'm sorry, but that is the oddest shopping strategy i have ever seen. Watts I could understand, or wanting USB powered i could understand, but specific Volt range shopping?

i'm not that great with electrical current and how it works, but it's not just volts you have to match, you would need to match the proper amperage as well. a drill battery will likely be way to strong in amps for a speaker, it would probably need an additional transformer just to condition the amperage flow so it doesn't just blow the circuitry.
need an electrician to explain in better/proper detail though, like i said i'm not the best with that stuff.

if that setup is too expensive then why wouldn't you just shoot for an already battery powered speaker rather then request a "Do It Yourself" setup? here is what i use. usb chargeable, bluetooth wireless, battery powered and amplified speaker. even has the bonus of stupid LEDs that are kinda annoying.

You can't have a battery too strong for a device, since the battery provides a possible max current of lets say 2amps. The speakers determine how much they use, or how loud you turn them up...

For cheaps, a junkyard for car parts
I know you're thinking 12v BUT be aware that a car alternator actually puts out 14 to 15 volts and the electronics have voltage regulators that cut that down to 12v and for electronics down to 5v or even 3.3v for modern logic.

Do any of you guys know speakers like logitech z520? They need 14,4v input and I have not seen pair of speakers that wouldn't use 230v straight from the wall. Any alternatives to these speakers with 12v, 14,4v or maybe even 18v power inputs? These logitech z520 are too expensive and rare to find to be honest.
