I noticed something new today - at least for me.
Some users' profiles that showed a permanent suspension before, now show a 10 years suspension.

Is that a new thing or just something I overlooked so far?

Well, I guess it's just not permanent. I noticed some with days or weeks remaining, never seen years before. It's kinda lol.

You must give 10 of them out, to 10 different accounts/users, to reach the same as before ....

X accounts (more is better^^) x 10 years = as near as possible to the perma suspension^^

This is awesome. Time to start wielding that power irresponsibly. Please start a "Who you do think I should slap with a 10-year suspension" thread where we can made silly recommendations.

Still banned, no change to any finite time.

He changed his profile pic, I did not recognise their account at first.

I hoped it will be 10 years and it will count down like a ticking bomb :D

So we could celebrate a "Konrad is freed" party, only for him to never notice?

We could be also a little sadistic and we could find him and write a massage to him on Steam and count days until he will get banned again. We could even bet on this!

Yes, changed today or yesterday. We checked a bunch of perma suspended ones and all show now the 10 years suspension.
Maybe only a bug or cg had free time and invested it in a very important change. Yes, sarcasm.

Instead of wasting time on trivialities issues of greater importance should be tackled.

This is clearly an example of a proportional punishment. For a human being, a 1-month suspension is an appropriate chastisement for most infractions. For a vampire or an elf, that length of time is but the blink of an eye. For the SG users whose lifespans are measured in centuries, a decade's suspension is more appropriate.

Another example of proportional punishment.

Would be funny if some of them wait for a decade to come back just to immediately break a rule and be "perma" banned again within a few minutes.

How many users are active here for 10 years straight? For many life will change so much, that they are not active here anymore or much less active. So my guess is that only very few users will come back after a 10 years suspension, and if they do, the chances of better behaviour should be rather high.

Well yeah, but it would be hilarious wouldn't it?

Yes, that it would be.

I think it's a bug. If it would be on purpose there would be mention in site changelog and maybe thread about it.

Thought there is no difference between permanent and 10 year suspension, as no one sane would wait that long to come back here.

There's still light at the end of the tunnel thanks to shady developers and shops churning out overpriced trash games faster as you mods can remove CV for them. Really no challenge to establish a new SG account for a few measly bucks.
