Doll - Foo Fighters

You know with all of the time that we've shared
I've never been so scared
Doll me up in my bad luck
I'll meet you there

I wish I had never taken this dare
I wasn't quite prepared
Doll me up in my bad luck
Doll me up in my bad luck
I'll meet you there

So I got a small contract job as a copywriter for the Quebec City's Summer Festival a couple of weeks ago (huh... ok well, late February until the beginning of April) and it made me discover some artists I probably would have never listened to otherwise. I'm usually mostly into metal, opera, neofolk and dark/ritual ambient. ^^

Inna Modja. Her third album, Motel Bamako is great. Totally loved Sambe, Boat People and the Tombouctou remix. The full album was on youtube but sadly, it seems that most songs were taken down.

Yael Naim

I also fell in love with Ghostly Kisses, especially their Never Know track. <3

I could've sworn I'd recommended GM ages ago. Ah well, yes, they're great.

My favorite album is their 2010 release Hammer of the North.

You like VU? I love old school NY underground proto-punk like them. Also recommend Television, New York Dolls, The Vibrators, Patti Smith, Richard Hell, and obviously the Talking Heads.

I know I recommended these dudes, mostly because of this amazing video
It's crazy to see how they've blown up, I didn't even know they were on Letterman until just now, finding the link for that vid.I remember them opening for Mastodon in 2011, brutal show.

really NSFW visuals and lyrics
Nine Inch Nails: Closer

You let me violate you
You let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you
You let me complicate you

Help me
I broke apart my insides
Help me
I've got no soul to sell
Help me
The only thing that works for me
Help me get away from myself

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

You can have my isolation
You can have the hate that it brings
You can have my absence of faith
You can have my everything

Help me
Tear down my reason
Help me
It's your sex I can smell
Help me
You make me perfect
Help me become somebody else

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

Through every forest above the trees
Within my stomach scraped off my knees
I drink the honey inside your hive
You are the reason I stay alive

Also the way trent reznor looks in this video reminds me a lot of this Tom Waits song (well the visual of this specific video anyway)

Tom Waits - Going Out West

and the visuals all along remind me of this "The Birthday Party" (a band that Nick Cave was in when he was young)

The Birthday Party - Nick The Stripper
