So basically my mom warned me about keeping my lifestyle as it is because unfortunately someone she knew passed away from a heart disease, and she told me he had a similar lifestyle to mine (Basically staying in the computer till 4 am and waking up at 2 pm)
I've tried to not think about it and not worry but i'm now afraid the same may happen to me, as i don't know currently if i have a disease of some sorts because i never go to the doctor. And with the coronavirus going around in my country i doubt i can go for them to check my health.

What should i do? I've tried recently to better my lifestyle (sleeping earlier) but all of this is making me very anxious. I fear death now more then ever before because i feel like we both shared the same life conditions, so i'm pretty nervous right now.

Oh and yeah here's a giveaway

EDIT: Thank you so much for the answers, I don't worry that much about my health right now, with your answers i can confirm that while i may not have the most healthy lifestyle it isn't as bad as i was thinking, i'll take some of your recomendations (about sleeping, do physical exercises and try to eat better).

You're not going to die from having a bad habit. You are obviously getting more sleep than 8 hours. People who stay up all night and walk around with 4-6 hours sleep are the ones putting themselves at risk of heart failure.

You could benefit from sleep therapy and if you can do it yourself, change your gaming hours. We are all in lockdown, or partial lockdown and your current lifestyle is going to make it very hard for you to later get a job and get on with your life because you'll be used to living the way you do now. Mental health can suffer because of this as well.Your mother is probably a lot more worried about these things, but she shouldn't be scaring you about dying.

High Cholesterol could have been a factor in how that young person died as it's more common in young men than young women. A mere blood test can check for that. While it can be attributed to lifestyle, it may also be a genetic problem. However, if you're getting your 8 hours sleep, even if you're not sleeping at the right times, it shouldn't do any damage to your heart. It's lack of sleep, staying up til 2am and then getting up for work at 7 or 8am is a very, very dangerous thing.

Keeping a healthy diet and eating oatmeal for breakfast is advisable for high cholesterol in any case. It makes you feel fuller so you snack less and helps remove some of the bad fats from your body. You can look it up for yourself.

Relax, you'll be okay. When you're able to, visit the doc and get a cholesterol blood test and get your blood pressure checked to put your own mind at ease.

start by eating healthy and making little exercises. train your back muscles and jog 20 minutes or so every day and you will see great increase in your health.

Hey! I just found your thread.
As a medical doctor I can say that sleeping at a different time is not a risk factor. Your mother told you this, because she is worried and cares for you but she also gave you additional stress. Every patient and every case is different, so there is a few questions to be answered but I understand if you wouldn't want to since there are a lot of people on the internet who don't want to share personal information.

About fixing your biological clock, don't expect it to happen instantly, your organism has adjusted to some habits for a long period and it can take a while. Instead of forcing yourself to sleep earlier, I suggest to try to wake up somewhat earlier instead - this has to happen gradually. Also it will help a lot if you exercise (even a little bit) during the day, it will improve many of the aspects that you are concerned about (and it will boost your mood too!)

Don't think too hard about it. Just eat healthier (if you think your diet is bad or is mainly consistent out of fast food), take daily walk of at least 30mins and you should be ok.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, just be more conscious of what you eat and set up 2 alarms, one an hour before you intend to sleep (to get a heads up) and one after that hour passes.
