Help! Looking for a french TV series.

So, I require the help of my fellow SGers to find out what is the name of the series I've watched years ago... It must've been at least 10 years ago, but I'm not sure when that was.

I think it was a mini series with 4 episodes, and I don't remember much of the story, but this dude had to disguise himself as a beggar, or a servant. He was young, but in his disguise, he was an elder and had a hunchback, if I'm not mistaken. And he kept calling his master or whoever it was "monsieur" in a very peculiar manner. It wasn't set in modern times, but I'm not sure what time it was set.

I'll add more info if as I remember them, but maybe there isn't more.
