Dont like the genre...so I think I cant tell anything about the game...

Too many Europeans on the Russian server.

1) Dota2 community is more hostile towards new players than the LoL community (that's been my experience, your experience may differ)
2) too much trading in the chat
3) too much russian conversation (probably trading) in the EU/US server chat
4) nicely balanced game and nice graphics

I think DotA 2 will be definetly good. Breaking the barriers of wc3 engine

I didnt really like it at first but I have grown to love it, I find it enjoyable once you get past the russians and hate/abuse of other players. Im surprised its not offcially released yet. If its a good enough build to be used for the internationals then should be fine for public use?

To my opinion Dota2 is gameplay is so bad compared to HoN .. its slow and the map so dark and gloomy ..and also all the heroes got gloomy and dark colors.. theres nothing makes it so bright... over effects and hard to understand whats the enemy doing to you.. they are just focusing on how the heroes say crap in everything and the graphic which these games need a good normal graphic not some super thingy .. and i do play HoN,Dota2,LoL so i know each of these games.. go check the difference between HoN and Dota2 in the gameplay .. HoN is so smooth and everything is clear and in the right place.. so thats my opinion here.. that HoN is more better than Dota2.

I played LoL for about 2 years now...I like it very much (even if sometimes I want to smash the keyboard :D)..Dota 2 is good, I played it a bit (20ish matches) but I can't get used to, don't know why...If we can possibly combine LoL gameplay and Dota 2 graphics and the "steam thing" would be perfect...but still, it's just a dream.

EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention that 1 thing I love of Dota 2 is champions' dub, really cool

Other that that, i still prefer smite. There is not enough action in dota for me, and the game just doesnt feel as fun to play.

Love it. Never had any of the problems that people whine about. I'm starting to think most of the whiners have never actually played the game and are just echoing whatever they hear on the internet.

All Dota 2 needs now is Goblin Shredder, Team system, achievements and less bugs.

It's a tough nut to crack, but imo well worth it.

All the heroes are free.

Valve is pouring money and sweat getting this game up to snuff and responding to the community.

Cosmetic items are available through drops rather than just the store.

The gameplay is nuanced as all hell - for good or bad, it's an intricate design, and that can definitely turn some people off while intriguing others.

More is short but well-made. Comic is fantastic. Graphics are good, voice acting phenomenal. Dialogue often hilarious.

I can't bring myself to enjoy a MOBA model where some heroes are ever unavailable without first paying for them.

I don't want Dota 2 D: I don't want Left 4 Dead 3! I don't want TF3! I don't want Team Dota! I don't want Counter Fortress of Half-Dead 4 Source! Just gimme HL3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you like MOBA you should love DOTA 2. You know, the game is amazing. I'm trying to get into the the local competitve scheme and we are working really hard. Well my friend you know the game is amazing, but as every MOBA the main problem is people. Trolls, ragers and the non speaking ones ruin most matches.

Well here is my opnion. I stopped playing HoN because the heroes started getting imbalanced and Overpowered. I don't know whats going on with the heroes but well now I'm playing dota. It's true that HoN is smoother than DOTA 2 but you can deal with that. The game is more balanced than HoN or LoL in my opinion. Either for the heroes HoN realeased or by the Runes system that LoL uses (I cannot say much about since I don't like LoL). The game will have every heroes free to play and this really makes the game balanced.

The intereaction between heroes is something amazing but i will say all the sound is amazing. This will be the most played MOBA for sure as soon as the game will be able to play for everyone.

It's shit.

dota 2 is difficult for someone who is new to moba. especially if there is no tutorial. but with watching a lot of vids and enough practise you can get the hang of it. for me it took 24 hours of playtime before i could say I can now play to start enjoying the game. If you are not familiar with moba and don't want to invest some time with discovering on your own how to play, I would say don't play. but if you are okay with that, I would say give it a go.

Since lots of ppl here clearly play Dota2 (steam just sent me an invite finially) ...
QUick question
When you complete games you get experience. Ive played 6 games and only have 176 out of 1000 exp pts. Its gonna take forever to level up to level 2 at this rate.
Am I missing something?
And once I do level up .. do I get anything?
