There is some incorrect information in the chart for 16 and 17. Those two landmarks are in Taiwan not China.

I love the idea, have a bump ! I'll be happy to participate for a french landmark when it will be EU's turn.

Sure, while there's nothing from my area I'll be happy to take something. Let's go for Mont Saint-Michel since I already went there. I can take one or two more if you don't find enough people.
Edit: Mont Saint Michel is #12 and you said 14-20, maybe it's already taken ? I can take any Paris thing then. Just tell me :)

I'll take at least a second one, but I'll wait a bit, in order to let other people choose what they prefer first.

I might have an issue with that, but please poke me on steam when you're around so we can figure out something if I can help ;)

If nobody takes Sacré Coeur and Arc de Triomphe before any deadline I'll take them... if Evilblacksheep below wants them, no problem :)

(Sorry for that, I answered in the wrong place as it was the same comment, my bad)

Yes, very nice event indeed! Willing to participate with some GAs (when Italy's turn will come in the European section of the event!)

Very good, if it's ok for you I will donate 1 or 2 individual gifts.
I am from Rome, so pick any 2 Roman landmarks and I will stick to them :-)

Have a bump! I'll be glad to help in the europe part so we'll talk about that again later ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
I think I will switch the schedule to do the Europe parts first because they will be smaller events to start with...
2 Europe Parts... 1st part 46 monuments and 2nd part 45...
We can do Asia last. Because once we have a lot of interest and can handle 66 monuments in one part of the event by then...

I'll pick La Pedrera House (59) if it's fine by you :3

Sorry for the mix up with the other comment. So, will pick up 11 (Millau Viaduct), 28 (Temple of Apollo) and 37 (Tower of Pisa).
Will keep you updated as we agreed ;)

Just a quick question because we never confirmed, you got my mail with the quizz for the viaduct, right?

We've all been eagerly waiting for this idea to realize (for the better part of last year I think). Nice to see it did not get dropped, that Jeff is still at the helm and that it is coming to life! Sweet!

I guess I can take Paris Opera. Been one of the highlight of my last trip to Paris and I guess I can share part of the experience with SG's puzzlers. Will be my first puzzle though (while I am used to solve them) so you'll have to bear with me.

I've been recently to the Milano Cathedral so can relate.
If you move Notre Dame further up (so it is not in adjacent weeks with The Paris Opera) I'll also be able to guide you through I think.

Hey buddy... was wondering if you would take Eiffel Tower on this first event...
You can use the awesome Eiffel Tower video you designed for connect the dot event and have a few ITH questions to answer based on your video..?
It's number 16 on list above.

I think I only had like 3-4 factoids in that video. If I were to take part I would like to make it more than just 10 questions taken straight from a wiki page. A video would be nice, but I'd have to remake it and one for each of the other landmarks.
I don't have much personal attachment to the landmarks here, except for me and the wife walking across Ponte Vecchio just after we had gotten engaged up on Piazzale Michelangelo. So that's one that's closest to my heart if any. And perhaps the little mermaid in Copenhagen. My mom's told me a story of when I was really young and we were going to see it and I was getting impatient and asked (roughly translated): "Where is that damn sea lady?".
I've only seen a few others IRL, but don't know much about them.

I checked other europe event. No Swedish landmarks. :( I'll pick Stonehenge there though. We celebrated our mom's 50th birthday there. It had been a dream of hers to do that since she was a teenager for some reason.
Also, the Sun Gate is not in Spain, it's in Bolivia.

I can handle the Eiffel tower if you want. I've an idea to make it more than just a quizz with few questions.

Started to work on the Eiffel Tower puzzle. I'll probably had prepared 80% of it tonight.
I also have an idea for another one so you can assign me the Colosseum or Notre Dame as you wish :D

Hmmm after looking I think I can make something with the Arc de Triomphe.

I saw It marked earlier with my name so I've already started something on it. But if it's taken that's fine I'll look for another one!

WOW that is such a nice thing to say!!
It makes it even more fun when you create a puzzle that others get to solve... so hope to see you volunteer for a landmark during the event... or maybe one during each part? ;)
It's gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnn!

As far as it goes for making puzzles, I am not as creative as you but hopefully I'll be able to help when it comes to North America or the Asia portions. But in the meantime, I'll try by contributing some giveaways here and there and may be full trains.
Also by the time NA or Asia starts I'll be able to see what kinda stuff can go where. Your Bundelecious event was the first time I've done a proper puzzle event. I usually stick to playing words or sudoku or minesweeper on my phone for my puzzling needs.

Hi Jeff, I'm always happy to help if you're good with a jigidi leading to an ITH. Just assign me stations and I'll meet your deadline. also happy to help with GA's too :-)
As an aside, I've seen the Atomium in Brussels, the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and Pompideu Center in Paris, France.

October is still a bit of time to have some creative ideas. Not sure right now what I want to do but helping you is always a good reason to put in some effort. I guess I'll take the Archer in Dreseden and the Holsten Gate in Lübeck. Time to learn something about my Home Country.

I'll gladly take a Paris landmark. Perhaps the Pyramid at the Louvre. I have an art puzzle that I was planning to use for my very slowly gestating event (that I hoped to launch in August but it is now clearly delayed). But it would work perfectly at the Louvre.

Sure. Of the ones that could be harder to fill, I could take Vimy (though if we have a Canadian constructor that would be better), but my wife is something of an expert on Vimy. Of the "should be easier" types, there are so many possibilities for the Acropolis I would probably do it as a series of 7 or 8 puzzles in one, with a Metapuzzle as the final result. (A Parthenon puzzle, a Propylaea puzzle, an Erechtheum puzzle, a sancurary of Pandion puzzle, etc.). I could easily see the particular construction of circles and statues in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City leading to a geometrical logic puzzle. I would probably write a Castel Sant'Angelo puzzle as a logic puzzle too, but that one I would theme after some ludicrous Dan Brown conspiracy, as it was such a key location in severarl of his books, particularly Angels and Demons. So yes, I would do more. There is enough time to do these justice.

I know that this is not a part of the 1st batch, but may I already have Eindhoven and Moscow? And especially for Moscow, may I choose landmarks myself (so, not to use those ones you already picked)? I promise I'll reveal such a Moscow to you, which you've never seen or expected and will wrap it in a mind blowing puzzle! :)

Hey! I was taking a look at South America and I found 2 errors:
Columbia is a district in the US. The South American country is called Colombia. Also, you included Mexico in South America, but it's part of North America. You might have mistaken Latin America with South America. The former is a cultural/linguistic division, while the latter is the real geographical division.
Source: I'm from South America. xD

Welcome to the first event planning thread for the Steamgifts Famous World Landmarks-- EUROPE Part 1!
Many may remember me saying how nice it would be if we as a group "toured" the world together in a large-scale event! Well we have 250 landmarks around the world to visit together and it will take a year and a half to finish our travels together. I've divided the 250 landmarks into the main continent areas and planned out a schedule as follows:
Looking for volunteers to:
CREATE PUZZLES:
DONATE TRAINS or individual GAs:
The success of the event depends on all of us joining in on the creation of it and also everyone solving the creation and experiencing the result together! THANKS ahead of time for your part! Note: HERE is an example of a previous puzzle event I helped put on that had creative volunteers that proved to be a big success!
So ready to pick one or 2 or 3 landmarks and get to creating?? Reply to this thread the landmark(s) that you are interested in taking.
