My Left 4 Dead 2 came from Valve Complete 2012 Pack.
However I got a free Left 4 Dead 2 in 2013 Christmas event.
After that my Left 4 Dead 2 became the free verson ,and i cant unlock some achievements of the paid verson.
I asked steam support to give back my paid Left 4 Dead 2 ,they always reply "You will receive no further correspondence regarding this matter.".And the important is that so many poeple have got their paid Left 4 Dead 2 back from steam support. Why i cant ?

Presumably they said something else before telling you you wouldn't get any more correspondence. What did they say?

I'm guessing they told you why, and you don't want to accept it. But we can't really tell you anything until / unless you tell us what they said in more detail.

they said :hello XXXX
As stated previously, your achievements cannot be modified in any way.

You will receive no further correspondence from Steam Support regarding this matter.

Of course they can't activate achievements. Otherwise they would have to deal with thousands of people complaining about "I earned this achievement, but it didn't activate, do it for me" and the system would both be flooded and fall apart if they actually listened to every sob story. Check the Steam store page to see if it says you own the game. If so, deactivate any DLC under the properties, since it is probably why the problem came up. If not, email Steam with a receipt or a reference to the order (which should be somewhere in your account history) and find L4D2 and contact them saying it isn't appearing in your account properly. Chances are that they either A. have to deal with dozens of these kinds of emails from people trying to scam the full version of the game from Valve by saying that it overwrote their purchased copy or B. misunderstood the question of wanting access to your paid copy as one of wanting achievement unlocks, and are saying no to you because of the achievements issue and not the product issue.

Everytime I contacted Steam support the first 2 responses were standard replies which completely missed the point. Make another ticket, maybe without mentioning the achievement issue. But as I said, don't expect a useful information in the first responses... -.-

I heard something about it counting as a DLC? Can you right click the game in your library and check for such? If there is, untick it and try again.

I will confirm this and say that it is a 2013 christmas DLC although I dont know what difference it will make if you uncheck it

No problem, just take matters in to your own hands. At whatever point you feel you have achieved this... achievement. Load up SAM and activate it on your account.
Problem solved.

Ask them to remove the free version. Problem solved. Quote SSA if necessary.

....

Tell them to remove the free copy.

Tell them to retain the paid copy after that.

Simple.

Why bring up achievements? Damnit. You just made it complicated for yourself.
