the past 4 or 5 bundles i bought. the most recent one that suprised me to thomas was alone, before humble bundle, if i saw this game, i would have been "a game where u play as boxes, no thanks" but thanks to the bundle, i gave it a shot. needless to say i loved it.

im a fairly new pc gamer, so there werent many options in indie games on the xbox. now that ive turned to pc, i have to say that i enjoy a indie game just as much as i do my aaa games, in many cases more.

There are. But not as popular as they are in PC gaming.

Why wouldn't you have considered buying an indie game before?

because theres about 10thousand of them and no way to tell whats crap since theres not alot of reviews, many of them are in this "pixel retro" thing which makes them look crappy and they last about 3 hrs to blow through, and they tend to cost about $10+ which is too much to waste on something like that
thats how they seem to people who've never played them. Thats why humble bundle helps with their 7 for $5, 5 of them for $1(or be cheap and go $.01 to make the cartoon indie developer cry) thing. lets people try them for no risk and trys to cherrypick some good ones.
first indie games I played were (in no particular order)bastion aquaria torchlight vessel world of goo trine and swords$sworcery...because of humble bundle(actually aquaria I missed as a bundle and had to go out of my way to buy based on hearing about it from humble bundle, but it still counts)(technically i think I may have played mount and blade first but didn't know it was indie and heard of it from a friend directly and that never led to considering other indie games)
before that I had seen some gameplay of supermeat boy and basically decided it wasn't for me(turns out I like that game though when I ended up owning it by accident through their bundle)

Humble Bundle was the final push I needed to get me off of console. I started loving indie gaming on XBLA because there were lots of retro style games that I really enjoyed and brought me back to the golden years of my gaming life. Then I caught wind of HB through a friend and now haven't turned my console on (barring my Wii) for nearly a year. And then to discover Adventure gaming is stronger than ever in this modern age brought tears of joy to this old man's heart.

I think im with you there.
I never once imagined that indie games would be what I was into, except perhaps minecraft. Now, the only AAA games I have gotten since VVVVVV are ones i've won here.

Steam changed this for me. Before I got Steam, I had no idea how many solid indie titles really existed. Nowadays, my library is probably half indie games.

Humble Bundles are the whole reason I signed up for Steam. My boyfriend got me one and said "now you have to get Steam". I'm pretty sure I've gotten every Humble Bundle that's come out.
Indie games are my favourite and make up the majority of my Steam library. I have so freaking many that I doubt there's going to be a single Humble Bundle that comes out where I don't have at least one or two of the games in it already.
Love those things.

I had played a couple of indie titles before, but the bundles really introduced me to some wonderful gems

The games in the early bundles, specifically World of Goo and Machinarium, pretty much showed me how good indie games can be. And since then the Humble Bundles have made sure that I always have an impossibly long backlog of games. Which is a pretty good problem to have.

Humble Bundle got me started on my Steam catalog. It's affordable for me, someone who has no job, and there's something strangely addicting with collecting games...through legit means, of course. That gives more satisfaction than simply torrenting a game.

I do agree with you on one part. I didn't know indie games were so good before getting my first HiB and now I enjoy them very much, but when I see a new indie game in store I rarely decide to buy it, because it might end up in the bundle sooner or later and buying a game for full price (for example Metro 2033 for me) and then see it being given away for free makes you feel cheated on.

yep, same here and I love platformer games and sadly noone (there may be some exceptions) except indie developers make them anymore (on PC) :/

Not to sound like a real pest, but does anyone have or know of someone who has a copy of HiB V? Been looking for one for several months now here, on Steamtrades, TF2Outpost and Reddit. I can't seem to find anyone who still has a copy.
Thanks to anyone willing to help me out.
EDIT1: I meant someone willing to trade it away, not for free. Just want to be clear, can't afford a ban on this site.

Trading isn't even allowed on here, try Steamtrades.

There is no way before buying my 1st humble bundle pack that i would have ever considered buying a indie game. After runnin through all these indie titles delivered to me in the HB's, i can honestly say that now, i look for any good looking game to play, i no longer stick to just the AAA releases. Humble Bundle, you changed my gaming forever <3
