Is it useful?
Well, at least they are acknowledging their mistakes and don't just release seven other re-re-re-rebalance patches later to gradually revert everything back (only to break half dozen other things), unlike some other rebalance patch king studio. :)

So the new revolver update was some days ago, the gun got nerfed, rifle updates were reverted but one aspect of the update remained mostly unnoticed.
The developers integrated a feature called "Gamestate Integration" which allows your current state of the game be sent to any remote or local server, if you allow so, making it able to analyze your current game. The gamestate is sent as JSON payload and lets you or the server provider react to any events in the game. They state that they used the technique to drive the pyro and light show at Dreamhack.
So some days ago I had a look at this feature and thought of some stuff you could to with it. I saw like two videos on youtube were guys used it to drive their philips hue lights. I took a shot at developing a little extern hud with a bomb countdown, video can be seen here:

So what do you think about this feature and what do you think could be done with such a feature?
I know there are some developers here on SG, maybe some that share the passion for csgo.
Here are some additional links:

Inofficial documentation of the payload
