t1 for now, only missing GoT and Michonne from t2 and I don't care much about Minecraft (maybe if it was in t2 I would get it). Batman looks good, but I don't have much money right now to go for t3

Yeah, I thought that too and was going to delete it once he deleted his initial post but he still hasn't so I guess I'll just remove it before him.

Does buying T1 auto lock the BTA price until the bundle ends?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes. It will lock the BTA you see on the bundle page at the moment you purchase it, so it won't go up or down anymore. You can increase your order amount later to get the rest of the bundle (while the bundle is still active).
To do this, you have to go to Purchases, Humble Telltale Bundle.
Above your keys is a green text: Like what we're doing? Click here to increase your order amount!.
When you put in a custom amount of $1, it will automatically tell you how much more you need to get a certain tier.

Ah, right, for some reason I thought it's already in this bundle. It's probably 3 games next week then. PN2 was already Tier 1 before, that'll be a shame if they set it as BTA this time. Same for Jurassic Park.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I went ahead and checked the previous 2 Telltale bundes (June 2013 and April 2016), Poker Night 2 was actually in Tier 2 last year.

2013 bundle
2016 bundle
2017 bundle

Last year's Tier 3 has now moved into Tier 2, while only Tales from the Borderlands remains there. That leaves us with four Tier 2 games from last year yet to make it in, plus the rest of the Telltale catalog, where I really can't go for much else. The Law & Order game is not sold separately on Steam anymore,The Walking Dead: A New Frontier has a voucher for it included in the bundle already, and Guardians of the Galaxy is just wishful thinking. That leaves us with these five likely candidates:

  • Jurassic Park: The Game
  • Poker Night 2
  • Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Season 1
  • The Walking Dead: 400 Days
  • The Wolf Among Us
  • Tales of Monkey Island Complete Pack

Did enjoyed TWD S2. Haven't played GOT yet. Plus, it was a better bundle than this one, since I don't like Minecraft.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Sounds better than most. I had the same feeling during sale, that I bought Transistor almost at double price (still not too expensive by any means) of last sale's price, yet it's not played yet. But all I could blame for that is myself, or just roll with it and try to avoid similar situations in the future :D

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

lol, I'm in the same situation. Have a huge backlog, but kinda lost the desire to play games. I'm 27 and it seems normal to be on this horrible phase. I can't finish the games that started playing. But, on the other hand, I'm on the 7th chapter of the 9º season (24 chapters per season) of a serie that started watching last week, and probably end it today, probably in 10 hours. I can't tell you at this moment because of spoilers, and there are bastards everywhere.

Oh, and got Transistor at US$3,70 last year on G2A, was really hyped, and still didn't touched it yet. The same applies to Invisible Inc, even bought the DLC, but this one wasn't what I was expecting sadly.

I bet, you haven't played Jurrassic Park then. But yeah, writing in Michonne is mediocre at best, and it's unforgivable for a narrative-based game.

Sadly but +1 for Michonne being bad, they overpushed the action parts and 3 episodes give way less time for even a chance to bond with anyone.
Though I was personally quite positively disappointed in The New Frontier, so you may enjoy Michonne as well, but as you implied, keep it bundled / on a nice sale. They just don't deserve the same money as they do for S1-2.

None of them really grabbed me either, except for the first The Walking Dead. Maybe it was just because it was the first Telltale game I played... but that particular story and characters just felt more interesting than what any of the other following games they released had to offer.

I have the TWD s1 from the last Telltale bundle and I won the DLC here, I haven't played it yet though. Too many good games to play :P. I tried the first episode of Minecraft Story Mode and a bit of Wolf Among Us and they aren't bad but I'm just not invested. The games in tier 1 have pretty good reviews though, and maybe third time's the charm? Idk.

I loved Puzzle Agent (dark, creepy, Twin Peak-ish atmosphere, some story, lots of individual puzzles) and Hector a lot :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You should get tier 1 for Hector. It's not made by Telltale, and it's awesome.

Sam and Max S1 and S2 are good too. After that, TT quality plummuted IMO. They became pure storygames with QTE, and while many laud their storytelling, I think it's fairly bland myself too.

Tell tale games are essentially visual novels, that may be why

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I disagree, these games are very different from visual novels which I like quite a few.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

i don't play visual novel's alot but arent the premise that you watch a story with little input on the main plot?

i've seen alot of vidyas showing that the choices in tell tale games don't matter with the exception of 1 or 2

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They are very different in lots of things like story styles, game mechanics, etc. The only similarities they have are being story heavy games and have branching paths, but that is done differently too.
