It is just a hunch, but today i browsed gamivo because of their weekend coupon and noticed that all their steam gifts are out of stock. When i filter their topsellers for steam gifts, they are all out of stock except these from old multi packs with inventory gifts available. I checked one other reseller and no more steam gifts sold either. I Could not find any infos on this but it seemed quite odd to me tbh.

Is that an account responsible for games on Gamivo though?

I have no idea about Gamivo, but I think they banned (or whatever) all accounts with unusual gifting activity, i.e. gifting tons of games to different accounts.

IIRC Steam restricted gifting a couple years back such that you can't just buy a game anytime and put it in your Steam inventory.
You can only gift directly to a user at the time of purchase.
Other than that, the dev has to give you a gift to another game through your purchase of something (example: I got Monday Night Combat, and was automatically given gift copies of its sequel), or you have to get a much older gift game that's still tradeable in people's inventories.

These sites use bots to auto buy and gift

I thought resellers focus on keys, as you need to add user to your friend list, to send them gift.

Oh, ok. Makes sense.

Should not affect SG then, when it was made by automated bots.

They have bots that do all of it.

I purchased a couple gifts, and once payment goes through, the bot sends you a FR, you accept, a few minutes later the gift is sent, and then the bot unfriends you,

These resellers trade stuff on Steam to get money in Steam wallet. Then to cash it out they sell games gifted on Steam with an additional discount for real money. So you can get some brand new AAA game with a discount that would only have keys sold for the same price as Steam elsewhere.

I saw a thread on Reddit with someone complaining that they'd been banned for gifting to their own alt account.

Must be a crackdown. Bit weird to do it now; I'd have thought it was a lot less prevalent now that they've applied region restrictions and prevented you from putting games in your inventory.

Absolutely nothing weird about Steam taking years to fix some issue people are crying about, in fact it's Steam as it's usualest.
