A big welcome to SG! :) The first thing I want to mention is that you should definitely read the FAQ and Guidelines if you haven't. It's a big help and it's important you should know the rules of the site.

Second thing is, there's a great group you should join when you can called Unlucky 7. You will not only have a good chance of entering some nice giveaways with a higher percent of winning but you will meet a lot of good people and more than likely make some good friends, I did.

I read the rules again, just in case. The brain has a funny way of dumping information, so always good to brush up again.
Thanks! I just joined Unlucky 7. I'll spend some time today checking it out :)

Welcome to SG. There isn´t relly much to add to the other users advice. If you can´t find an answer to your questions in the guidelines or in the forum don´t hesitate to ask for help. Enjoy your time and space cat will sooner or later visit you.

userstyles are nice. I use two of those on this site, and manually edited one to look better, if you can read CSS, Stylish can be very useful for making sites easier to use (but don't forget the eye-dropper tool from uBlock Origin which can hide things much faster than by manually editing CSS).
Did anyone link you to this userscript yet? Steam Web Integration
I also edited this a bit:
Tampermonkey Dashboard->Edit SteamWeb Integration->Settings Tab->User excludes (Add...)
/^https?\:\/\/www\.steamgifts\.com\/$/
/^https?\:\/\/www\.steamgifts\.com\/giveaways\//
I might edit excludes more later to fix the GA page links, but this gives a lot of convenience if you own a lot of games or buy bundles and need to check on those. The showcase link is nice too.

Oooh nice! I am CSS and coding dumb in general, but still appreciate it! Way back in the beginning of the internet's home popularity surge I started to learn HTML and even made a website, but I was young then and full of hope ;)

Great question! Something I really wish I knew, was to only enter games I want to play. I was so excited to win things, I'd enter anything and everything. Eventually I started to care about playing games people gave to me and I didn't want to have a bad ratio. So try to only enter games you really want to play!
It's also good to check out the deals section because you'll find a bunch of bundles and good deals. You can buy the bundles and give away games.
I also broke a couple of rules when starting. The mods kindly didn't suspend me, but it's good to read all the rules because there are some you may not know about!
Overall I hope you enjoy it here. There are some bad fruits in the bunch (no one in particular) but overall this can be a supporting community so feel free to ask any questions.
I added you to my whitelist and nice ratio so far! :)

Wow thank you so much! I added you and a bunch of helpful people to my whitelist too! Hopefully I can occasionally use it to give some nice games, though I do have to watch how much I spend. Everyone has been lovely so far. I know there are a few who will hate based on my exuberance, but I learned a long time ago that changing yourself to please others is just a fast way to Depression Station, especially if it's not that you're bad...just clashing personalities.
The deals section is definitely very helpful!

Well, I don't have any advice other then be awesome, but the one thing I didn't know was that sgtools had a different forum to report bugs, which people pointed out after I made a thread about it. Some were very rude (Not gonna mention names) while others were nicer about it. Sad part is that it was only a month ago that this happened so I didn't even qualify for noob ;-;

I always find it quite jarring when people are rude when you make a mistake though...like how do they expect you to learn?! I think it's always best to err on the side of niceness until you see if the intent is malicious, because most of the time it's not. Since you weren't a noob, I think people were probably harsher in that instance.
Still, reporting a bug is a nice thing to do and should be applauded (former QA here)!

Yeah, I guess. It was weird when one of them told me how to close a thread when I already closed threads before, I know he's staying on my blacklist for not being a very good person xD

I definitely have that ability...I hope! The worst for me is when I don't understand the joke, then I don't know how to react; freeze like a deer in headlights!
It takes a lot to genuinely bother me, if someone is just being nasty for the sake of it, it's almost like...why bother? But dark jokes, those I'm ok with and like, though I only tend to use them with people who I know a little better, or directed at myself.

In regards to the above userscript, I just added this to my cosmetic filters, now everything works fine.

Welcome ^^
I really like the bundle thread here, the post is really informative, like region lock, etc, and there's a script for highlighting owned games ^^

Thank you!
YES!!! I just discovered the bundle thread and it's so helpful. I'm in the position of needing to be frugal right now, so anything that helps me see where I can give something back without spending too much money is amazing, so much respect for those who contribute with those informative threads.

I joined Unlucky 7, somebody else told me, apparently if your account has enough giveaways the age is not important! :) Thanks so much for the Whitelist add and lovely welcome, I added you to mine as well.

The wishlist section is so helpful! I find myself wishlisting more games, before I only stuck to games I knew I could afford, now I add ones I want to play, whether they are expensive or cheap, or even just ones I find really intriguing!
Great advice :)

Hope this isn't a post that will annoy people. Hello, hi, I'm totally new at this and love participating in the discussions forum, but also feel a bit dumb because my brain doesn't work well when faced with new things! I've read the support section and feel I mostly understand things well now (thanks again to the people who helped, on the forum, before. With that in mind, what do you wish you knew when you were a SteamGifts noob? Any advice for a newcomer!?
Or just pop in and say hi!
