But still, people would add Skyrimz to wishlist, search for it and enter all the wishlist-only giveaways and then remove the game from their wishlist adding Fortix. That would be done over and again so need to be disabled somehow - 12h sync interval would do the thing.

Might as well add every game into the wishlist and so this stupid and annoying feature doesn't affect me.

Still, this feature is so terrible, it will never be implemented.

Very bad idea.
Your odds for winning a game are very low, even more if its a popular game like the ones most people have on their wishlists. The only way to win anything is to enter every give away you can that have short times left and a low amount of entries.

Whats the point of winning a game that 1.) you have no intent on playing anyway, and 2.) You cant regift or trade?
Kinda pointless just to enter a giveaway for a game just to make your library fatter. Yes people do this but its still pointless.

I dont bother with a steam wishlist (I might have added 2 games ever in passing). This would be a huge hassle for me to go and add a bunch of games. Doesn't entering it and spending my SG points mean I "wish" for it anyways?

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. In the past, people have entered in giveaways for games they do not want simply because they did not want their points go to waste (closing to 300 limit).

Update, you people didn't take it as I wanted. Apologies, I forgot to say it would be optional for giveaway maker to be another option beside group/private/contributor.
Also, I still see no comments showing real disadvantages, only some haters. If you think this is a bad idea, tell me why.

Inconvenience
There are games that aren't available in various regions
What about pack/bundle giveaways?

Having a game on your wishlist isn't necessarily a good indicator that the person will enjoy it. Someone might wish for a game that fails to meet their expectations, and someone might first be introduced to a game by a giveaway and end up loving it. Also, someone might genuinely wish for more than those top five games. And someone might use those top slots for expensive games instead of those they want most.

Good morning
Let me explain. A giveawayman doesn't want his giveaway to be won by an user who blindly enters his lottery but a dude who would really want to play the game. Why not use Steam wishlist? Okay, but people would add every-single-game to their lists to enter those giveaways! Well, there's simple way to solve it, just make the sync scan only first five (more or fewer) wishlist elements.
Disadvantages? People would change their wishlist & resync their account every quarter an hour so the time between another sync would need to be raised (to hour or so) to not kill the server.
Also, after someone would win, the wishlist would need to be scanned again to not let people add a game to wishlist, enter giveaway and then change the game on their list to another. It could be also solved by extending the break between synchronizations to 12 or 24 hours.
Advantages are rather obvious.
Your opinions?
Edit: I forgot to say it would be optional, to be chosen by the maker in the giveaway creation menu. It was pretty obvious...
