Hi,

I'm currently looking for many cards to complete badges. Most people trading cards ask others to send trade requests, without adding them as friends on Steam.
I'm looking for people who have many cards to trade and accept being added as friend, so that their name appears when I try to look for a card using the badges page.

What should I do? Steam forums suck, I tried searching for "card" and "add me", but most of the results are old. Adding random people who claim to have many cards doesn't go that well because most of them ask NOT to be added.
I really don't want to search for specific cards, using the badges page to see who has that card is a lot more convenient and faster. Any tips on finding the right people?

Regards,
Hartmann

Start with not having a private inventory, ffs.

Thanks for the reply. What's the benefit of having it Public instead of Friends Only? I can only see an advantage when adding people, so they know I have many items. Anything I'm missing?

There is no reason to keep your inventory private. You can hide your gifts while keeping the rest public. There's no harm in that.

Public inventories also allow people to send you trade offers when you post on trading forums. And to send you counter offers. And if you posted your trade link on your profile people could also send you trading offers.
Not to mention that you need a public inventory to use STM and SEP anyway...

+1 for SteamTradeMatcher... and if that fails to provide me with potential card traders for certain games, I'll see if Swappy (trading bot) has what I want. If not, I'll check these groups:

Steam Trading Cards
1:1 Trading
CardTrades

SteamTradeMatcher checks Swappy for trades. And at least one more 1:1 bot.

Source: me, trading 1:1 like 20 cards with Swappy in one trade :P

I see we have over 200 games in common, so you can add me for card trades if you wish.
Also, check out this group. Awesome people who have helped me with a lot of difficult to complete sets. Some might be ok with you adding them.

I cannot, as I'm just a simple member. Add a comment saying you want an invitation.

You only got 6 pages though (so if you want to complete sets and want to trade from that, it's not much).
I can never be bothered with trading, i just sell cards from some sets and then buy the missing ones on others.

Feel free to add me. I have over 7000 cards. Just message me so I can nickname you so that I don't remove you from friends list when I tidy it up which I do weekly.

I will do 1:1 trades same set as long as I don't end up with a dupe.

If you want to do a different set, then cards need to be similarly priced on the Market and no dupes as well. I also will only trade my dupes if not of same card set.

Of course, if you have something to sweeten a deal to break my rules I'm always open...

you can use steamtradematcher (http://www.steamtradematcher.com/) for your dupe, it's saved me alots of time,.

They scan your inventory to see what dupe you have then they scan every user in their data base and show you who need what card so you only need to press on ''send trade'' with good card, 1:1 only same set you can report them if they don't do 1 : 1 but you need to let them know that you are from stm so they accept the trade otherwise they might think that you come from the steam forum and you will need to do 1: 2 mostly
