So, i just bought Doctor Sleep

Today i bought Doctor Sleep from a local bookstore beacuse it seemed nice, but as i started reading i noticed that the characters where the same as The Shining, i looked it up and its the continuation.

So, should i read The Shining first? I only watched the movie, so i dont know if im gonna missed a few things out of it

And entirely unrelated, I just started reading Doctor Slump.

I've not read Doctor Sleep yet, but you will want to read The Shining. Not sure if you'd do that first or after, but the book is one of King's finest.
