Well, people might start whitelisting everybody so that they can have some nice giveaways to join.

If this was implemented, we'd have people who have never made any giveaways but have 1000 names on their whitelist.

I'd just think it would kinda lose it's value if you made a giveaway to show your gratitude and 2000 people enter it and only 100 of those have ever made any giveaways.

Then someone can simply whitelist you, enter giveaway and then remove you from WL.

Having higher reps (meaning having more people who +rep on your profile) generally marks you as more trustworthy.
A trader who have like, let's say, 300 +reps on his profile, will have easier time getting offers or sometimes even up-selling their items when compared to a newbie trader that has zero or just a few reps.
Begging for fake reps, or rep exchange, is always a taboo in trading. You will get banned from most trading community.

I recently had a thought something like this, I have a people who whitelisted me, and I really want to show them my gratitude for doing it, but how? there's no way to find out every single person who has whitelisted me, so maybe there's also other people who's thinking the same, and come up with this idea.
I think it would be good being able to make giveaways which would only show up for for those people who has you in whitelist.
