From Steam Store:

If you're wondering about the delisting...
Wario64 originally reported on this but the game has now been delisted and you can still purchase it for $8.50 on GamesPlanet.
https://us.gamesplanet.com/game/little-witch-academia-chamber-of-time-steam-key--3645-1

It's likely due to Bamco losing the rights which probably lasted only a year and a half.

I'd rather assume any other reasons than losing licensing rights, because it really doesn't make sense to develop and publish such a game on a short-term license policy.
Anyway, they really should have announced it earlier.

It's like a disease, son... :)

Somehow, instead of wondering if I should finally install this game, all I could think of was "sigh, now I need to make more booster packs." :(

Friends don't let friends do badges... :)

Can you no longer make boosters for a game with the Booster creator when the game gets delisted or do you just wanna get over with it before you forget?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes you can, that's a nice way to make profit usually because the supply is limited.

Good to know :) I have 2 removed Adventure Time games sitting at half a badge I might wanna complete someday.

So is Adventure Time an exception when it comes to removed games that the cards are not marketable?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I think it's related to why the game was removed, but more like it's en exception if they stay marketable. If I had to guess, they stay marketable if there was no drama involved in the delisting, just the dev asking for it. My favorite when I still bothered with that stuff was https://steamdb.info/app/352080/ .

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I think one of the relevant factors is also if the developer still has other games on Steam / if Valve is still doing business with them. Because even after a game gets delisted Valve still has to give them their share for the market transactions I assume.

I remember that game but why your favorite? I don't remember the dev pulling any stunts like that guy who turned the game logo into a steaming pile of crap and basically told everybody to go fuck themselves (as part of the logo) :D

I meant my favorite for crafting boosters, because the cards are marketable and have high prices. Most likely because of exactly that. :)

Oh, I see. You said you don't really do cards anymore but I still recommend deleting that last comment before the vultures jump on that one xD

Why should I care about what they jump on? It's not like I've been hiding the fact that I like free profitz or more BL to fix my ratio. :)

Permalink

Naw, I ment because they'll ruin the prices but you're right who gives a damn :D

On the other hand anybody who doesn't have the game yet wouldn't be able to jump on it anyway.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well first they have to buy the removed game from somewhere, that's why removed games are more safe from them. And it's not like card prices are some kind of secret, anyone can go to https://steam.tools/cards/ for example and order by set price.

Well, I've been piling up cards for the "level 5" badge of all my removed games, for no particular reason. Depending on how much the gems cost, there might be money in selling the booster packs but I just open them. A few cents profit per day is more effort than it's worth. :)

I feel you :D I've been doing the same when I was still more into card collecting. Might even snag the cards for a Lvl 1 badge for this one depending on how the badge looks.

Nope. Definitely too expensive for a star / cross in a circle :D

Oh, just to add more useless info, there are some weird kind of ultra-removed games where you can't craft booster packs for them (any more?), and some different kind of ultra-removed games where you might be able to craft a booster pack, but you can't look at the badge page so the cards are useless.

And this is not a complete list, but it's all the ones I noticed / remembered to write down...

INVALID GAME ERROR, CAN'T SEE BADGE:
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/518160/ ABRAMS TANK (8 cards)
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/267790/ DARK BLOOD ONLINE (5 cards)
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/407510/ Devilian (6 cards)
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/441020/ Heavenstrike Rivals (15 cards)
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/467690/ My Girlfriend (5 cards)

CAN'T MAKE BOOSTER PACK:
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/267790/ DARK BLOOD ONLINE
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/555750/ Masked Forces
https://steamcommunity.com/my/gamecards/256410/ Might & Magic: Duel of Champions

The listing for https://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/753/224260-No%20More%20Room%20in%20Hell%20Booster%20Pack suggests that it doesn't... :) Ain't nobody paying four bucks for a booster pack unless they can't be crafted any more... :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Or people are unaware if there is a way. I remember when I still traded I could sell for some game cards at the gempack price per card, and the gempack allowed 2 boosters, so even boosters are somewhat elusive to many users.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hmmm, good point. :) I think sometimes people forget / don't know about crafting boosters for themselves, for brand-new "big" games there's always someone throwing money away... :)

You know, now that you mention it, I got a few bucks of free money selling surplus Code Vein booster packs - just buy the gems, people! :) Seems there's no cards for the new Atelier game, though. :)

How is this if one enjoyed the anime (but it isn't a favorite or anything)? The gameplay doesn't look like it's my thing but I also wouldn't mind seeing more of the LWA universe if the game does anything fun with it.

Imagine an episode of LWA stretched out with boring gameplay, a timeloop, and generally crappy sidequests.
It's as flat as Lotte's chest.

The positives:
You get to walk through a very basic layout of the School (it was nice to understand the layout a bit more - not sure how accurate it is), near the end you collect Chariot cards (and can view them), and you get to interact (even if somewhat basically) with a lot of characters.

It's just, the dungeons really aren't fun, the upgrades are meh (no character customization either, beyond spells), and the timeloop gets painful (it's part of the story, but I feel it was badly implemented, and makes the game feel like a chore, especially if you're like me and have to 100% it)

Worst experience ever. I've never bought from them directly to be honest, but this monday I had to take this decision since I was panicked after reading this "removal" too late.

I did my order, paid with PayPal and everything gone okay, except I didn't receive my key. So after a while I decided to write to the support which emailed me back to not worry since They were aware of a store bug that don't generate keys. So okay, just wait more.

More than twelve hours later I still got no key, so here We go: I'm going to chat with support this time, but the reply wasn't that different from the first one. Just patience and time. All good boys, do your work and resolve this f$@%€#g bug.

Today I woke up with the wrong foot so yeah my bois You ain't doing your work I'mma going to cancel my order and I'll ask for a refund. So I did and I finally received my refund on PayPal some couple of minutes later.

Sure, but do you trust them the next time they say they'll take it off? Do you trust the next publisher that tells you their licensing is ending when there's always available keys on other sites? This happened before with other publishers just to rake in some money, then they post it all again. There's a bunch of games that will disappear off steam for a bunch of reasons and there's no guarantee steam will survive for the next 100 years either, so trying to collect them simply cause they're gonna be removed from steam "at some point" and not laughing at the publisher doing this seems strange. It would be better to collect games that are removed from steam by valve itself, not by the publishers, since you know the chances of one of those games coming back are basically 0 when valve says bye it's bye.

I wonder if they did it to try and get money directly through their website, and then realized that a bunch of other websites had keys to their game and then they were like nvm, we sold every bundle site too many keys out there for us to take our game off now.

They didn't actually announce it this time though which they would have done if they wanted to milk sales out of the removal.

Devs have probably nothing to do with it since it's a sale thing :3

You probably meant that, but it's just sad to see how fast people are blaming the devs even if they didn't do anything and it's all the fault of the publisher...like we have seen with the whole Epic Store mess around Metro and other games :)

In an e-mail to Gematsu, a Bandai Namco representative said that the Steam listing required an update, which is why it was temporarily removed. The publisher did not say what specifically needed to be updated.
