This game looks amazing and interesting, I have never heard of it! Hope it is successful! Thanks for sharing!

That was an instant-support for me. The original was filled with great ideas, but bugs & a bad translation really held it back. Ice-pick Lodge is one of my favourite game developers, as they always seem to develop interesting games (I would not call their games perfect, but they are always unique & interesting).

I can sadly not say that I fell in love with the game. I fell in love with what the game could have been, and the game left a deep impression on me, like few other games have (in an almost Planescape kind of way). It was to a large extent the translation that in the end made me quit playing. But now they are giving it a second chance, and I hope they are able to get closer to making the game that it deserves to be. I've played enough of the developers games to know that it won't be perfect though, it will have some rough edges, it will be user-unfriendly, but it will also be very interesting (and this is why I won every single one of their games).

I used to play it years ago on my old PC. Great game, with great atmosfere, it was buggy, the combat was bad but, still it had that charm that kept me playing. The Void was good too, so have my money. ^^

I feel that the price is a little too high. I use the word price because Nikolay Dybovsky once said "Kickstarter is not a gathering of phylantropists, it's a shop with preorders". I've paid 5 dollars to get a game on Knock-Knock Kickstarter (their previous game), but now for 20 dollars I can preorder Witcher 3 or maybe some other AAA game (remember that most of their fanbase is from Russia). I guess I'll wait for the game to appear on Steam.

It's not one or the other, but both. Yes, you are pre-ordering a game, but it's often a game that will not get made (or will not get made to the standard of quality that the devs envision) otherwise.
I have kickstarted games not as an alternative to pre-ordering, but as a way of ensuring that games I like (which often lack mainstream appeal) continue to get made, and the developers that make them are properly supported and encouraged. I well know that the price I am paying is as much as (or often more than) a pre-order option, and it's definitely more than what many will pay when the games eventually hit a sale. This is even more true if I choose to support the game at a price above the minimum.
That part that is over and above say the 50% sale price can be considered my philanthropic offering.

Played original game 3 times (for all 3 playable characters). The game and the story is REALLY DIFFERENT for all of them.
I can recommend it for all who did not played it (don't mind obsolete graphic design)
I will defensively buy and play remake. Thanks Voidy for good news!

They will even put it on Steam too :)
Nice, finally the remake they promised they would make :)

Enjoyed a great deal of the original, and of the ARG that was going before the KS campaign. Backed in the first 5 minutes.
People, you should really look into this one. This is the game worth playing and a KS worth backing. Just check the pitch at least.

Well, just a bunch of well-written letters, full of hints and riddles leading to various photoes, videos and even a FB group full of "people" and their conversations, showing us the possible start of the plague and how the Inquisition tried to cover it. Really, everything was of top quality, that FB group reads like a good thriller novel.
The special thing was that the characters were so believable and fleshed out that you couldn't help but feel compassionate. They even replied your letters if you sent them.
You can find the whole story on reddit.

I signed up as a backer for this one. The original was such a work of art, and the remake promises to be even better. We definitely need more people backing this.

Please pardon the bump, but it's better than making another thread.
The Kickstarter has 7 hours remaining. It managed to reach funding and one of the stretch goals, but it's also about half-way to its second. If anyone is still batting around the idea of funding the game, now's the time! :)
If nothing else, take a look at some of the recent updates if you haven't checked the page in a while. Some of them has been pretty interesting.

I hope you don't mind if I mention this here, Voidy. Pathologic's remake needs all the attention it can get while it's still in funding, but the Kickstarters of Interest thread I occasionally update had this listed too.
I'd like to invite anybody who finds a kickstarter that they're really hyped for to come suggest it in that thread so we can spread the awesome around. It keeps slipping way out off the forums because there is no active discussion on the games/projects, so even if you don't have any new suggestions then discussion of the projects is always cool.
Pathologic in particular is going to get a major boost with a modern engine. I don't know if they're going to remake the paths themselves, or just effectively re-skinning it, but they seem set on bulking it out with as much extra content and polish as they can muster. They've had time to grow as a developer, they've gained experience, and now with these funds they'll be able to create the game a second time around while also learning from their mistakes.
Say what you will about early access and kickstarter risks, these kinds of things are what make it all worth it <3

I remember playing this gem back in 2005. Back then I was but a simpleton so i skiped it for being too overwhealming. Picked it up a few years back since it somehow managed to etch it self into my mind. The game is one hell of a ride.... but you already know that, dont you :D
