I think people in general would be happy with any game but if you want to reach a bigger crowd in total you could choose to giveaway a game wich hasnt been bundled and this doesnt even have to be expensive when compared to your 100 dollar budget . There are plenty of good games within 5-30 euro's.

Another thing you could check for is the best selling games or the new section on steam or bundle sites.

What about using the $100 to setup a Humble Monthly subscription for a year, a seperate account from your own personal ( I don't know if you partake in HB or not, but either way, it takes no time to set up a seperate gmail for the purpose ) and then any games that come it ( maybe even you help yourself to any games that take your fancy along the way ) you can make giveaways for.

Would give you like 70 something games? If I did my maths right. Which is doubtful.

• Hollow Knight I loved it and spend nearly 60h in it. I'm sure whoever will win this, will have a lot of fun. ($15 via Humble Widget)
• Soma One of the best athmosphere and storys in game, that should played by way more people. ($8.99 at Humblestore)

• The current "everybody wants it because it is famous" game of the year is THISWILLTOTALLYLEAVEEARLYACCESS's Battlegrounds. Drop it as a level 0 giveaway and watch the bots hum their little auto-entry dance. • The month's fading fad is Hellblade, which is likely to fade from memory as shortly as the actual game is.
• The fresh new fad is the prequel to Life is Strange. Never mind those who never played or watched the first but consider the prequel their current #1 must-have game, I am sure they will totally play (or, well, considering it is actually an interactive film: watch) it. Within the next millenium or so.
• You may also be rebellious and go for last month's fad, NieR: Automata, because as we all know, everybody wants to play the sequel of a spin-off of a series they never even heard about, let alone played it. Or not, when they learn that they have to play through the entire thing at least thrice, so they kinda lose interest (one fifth of the players bothered to play to reach at least one of the final endings).
• Or maybe one of the classics? Dark Souls III used to seem a permanent entry in the top 10 of the wishlist, but as people realised that oh shit, I actually have to play this game and not just follow a bright arrow to the next cut-scene, they kinda gave up and went back to the next UbiSoft open-world fuckaroundery to follow their favourite arrows. Still, who knows, maybe there are a dozen or so actual videogamers left on this site who'd want it.
• You can also try to give away an upcoming game, the sequel of the latest Wolfenstein re-reboot, called The New Colossus. You could also get the warm and fuzzy feeling of creating the first ever giveaway for it on SteamGifts that is not Russia-locked and has more entries than the fingers on your hand.
• I want to mention System Shock 3Prey (2017), but since it is an actually good game, I am sure that its continued presence on the community wishlist is just a fluke.

Or, just pick some games you personally enjoyed and would recommend to others, so your birthday event will have a personal touch and not just tries to appease the popularity contest of the SteamGifts user base.
