As in nVidia Geforce GTX560? Where might I find them at such a low price? Newegg? Some weird asian site? It looks like that average around 250 from what I've seen.

Yeah, the GTX 560TI is quite good. If you prefer Radeon cards the HD 6870 model should be your choice though. It's slightly slower than the 560 TI but cheaper. It also has less requirements which could prove useful if you're planning to upgrade an old PC.
Direct comparison of the two: http://www.hwcompare.com/8890/geforce-gtx-560-ti-vs-radeon-hd-6870/

Do you like one or the other better? The PC I want to upgrade meets all the requirements for BF3 and Batman Arkam City and stuff except for the video card. It's one of those stupid Intel Integrated chipset ones.

Well I was thinking about buying one of the 2 when I upgraded my system recently. In the end I chose the HD6870 for 2 main reasons: First one was the price. I got it for 165€ in some special offer which also included a key for Battlefield 3 on Origin(which the card runs nicely). The other one was the power consumption. My crappy power supply can only handle up to 450W so I wanted to be sure my PC won't freeze etc.

It looks like the geforce 560TI averages $260. :(

560 ti could be found for ~$200 if you look around. What're your other specs though. They're highly important, as if we recommend you a GPU, but your CPU is lacking, you'll be bottlenecked and be losing out on performance. Also, what're your PSU specs?

My CPU is a Intel Pentium Dual Core E6300 3.80 GHz
8192 MB RAM

Ouch that CPU is pretty old, I wouldn't recommend a 560 ti then. Look more around the HD 6770/HD 6850 range for a more balanced config. Also, your power supply specs? Do you know the name or model of it? If not you'll probably have to take off one side of the case and look, tell me the combined max wattage output on the +12v rail(s). Also, download a program like CPU-Z and go to the mainboard tab and tell me your motherboard model. Would be good to know if you even have a PCI-E slot. Speaking of, what's your current GPU?
Comment has been collapsed.
My current GPU is an Intel Integrated Express Chipset G33/G31. Can't even run Portal 2. According to the official System Requirements for BF3 my CPU can run it.

My Motherboard, according to that CPU-Z program is Pegatron Corporation Benecia 1.01

Sys Requirements are hardly ever accurate. And good, I see by your mobo you do have a PCI-E x16 slot, still waiting on your PSU specs....all of these people are recommending you GPUs, when it's very very well possible your PSU wouldn't be able to handle the addition of a discrete GPU.

How do I check my PSU? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I don't know much about computer hardware. Also I was refering to the actually requirements on EA's website, not the systemrequirementslab.com.
EDIT: Oh, Power Supply Unit. Didn't know what you meant. Derp.
2ND EDIT: I should've checked this before. I don't know how to open the case of my computer, because of a little metal lock thing on the edge of the case. I unscrewed the screw and it budged like it would open, but the metal lock wouldn't let me open it. I took a pic, the red arrow point to it.

Do you know how to open a HP Pavillion p6120f PC? I didn't look at opening it before, and I can't get it open. There's a lock thing in the way. http://postimage.org/image/c5cakv92z/

Welp, unfortunately that's not your biggest concern right now. Just telling me the name of the PC is enough for me to see that you currently have a 250w power supply. Definitely inadequate for any sort of GPU upgrade. PSU shortcomings are usually common with prebuilts from companies like HP and so you'll have to upgrade to another PSU. Would you like me to recommend you one?

Uh, sure. That's really disappointing. Do you know how to open the PC so that I could upgrade the PSU and GPU once I have better ones?
EDIT: Is the stuff I have in the computer worth upgrading? Or is it better just to get a whole new computer or build one myself? Also, how do you know what PSU i have? You know the PC name?

You'll be more than fine with this one And unfortunately, for some odd reason, on my work computer I can't make the picture out, it just never fully loads for me..odd. But usually, to take off one side, there would be screws in the back that should be pretty clear to see and just unscrew the ones on the side you want to take off, and unless it has some sort of extra locking mechanism, which would vary per case, they usually aren't that hard to get open, but I can't really tell you how to do it with full certainty, especially having never seen it.

Thanks for all your help. I'll search the internet to see how to get the computer open. BTW, are you familiar with the p6120f or something? Do you think the components in the computer are worth upgrading?

Not a problem :). And well the CPU is pretty outdated, but not so much to the point where a GPU upgrade would be wasted on it. Anything will be better than the integrated GPU you're using now. But it all depends on what you want to play really, and how much you're willing to spend. Your initial budget for the GPU was for $200 and under, so I'm sure it'd be out of the question to say scrap the PC and start anew, which would definitely cost more than that.

I'd like to play the new releases like Battlefield 3 and Skyrim and stuff on reasonably good settings, like medium or something. That's what I'm aiming for. I'm glad I asked about GPUs, cause I had no idea that I needed a PSU too.

If you are looking something on the cheap side i can recommend you Nvidia's GTS 450 1 Gb version. It is about 120 $ for a quite good performance on all the newest games. OFC you won't be able to play newest games on ultra but if you are okay with medium-high settings, which offers normal framerate you can pick this one. In BF3 on medium-high settings you will get from 40-70 fps.

Cool, I don't need full Ultra settings, Medium is fine for me. Thanks.

Megabyte GTX 560 Ti. Works just fine for me and it fits me perfect. Not too expensive either. :D

I have Asus GTX 560 Ti DCII Top, which has also worked quite nicely.
My old gpu wasn't good enough to play Hydrophobia and BF3 was a bit laggy. Now both run maxed :)
Though price is over $200. I also have Intel i5-2500k CPU 3.3GHz, so if you have some crappy 1.9GHz CPU from the past, it might be good idea to upgrade it to better too :D

GIGABYTE HD 5450 1Gb DDR3 I got it at 60€ and I can play MW3 all maxed out!
Comment has been collapsed.
I haven tried it yet(dont have the game), but I am gonna buy it in July because MW3 is a piece of sh*t, I hate this game so much(lagg, buggs, buggs, stupid gameplay not realistica at all).
The best FPS I have played so far(besides BF3 at my friends house) is Battlefield 2142!!

There are plenty that can run it i bought my 460 at 120$ and it can run it on high at 60fps

Cool. That 460 is what a lot of people are suggesting.

it should run but depends on what other components you have got

Is there any graphics card that can run Battlefield 3 or other high-gfx games that cost less than $200?
