Did you even play the demos, bro?
I only played Garden story and visual novels.
Garden Story seems like a wholesome kind of RPG, while I love the look of the game the gameplay seems a bit tedious right now. I feel I could warm up to it, but not enough to get a high spot in my wishlist.
ATRI looks like a visual novel that won't disappoint. So far it definitely seems like a serious and pleasant visual novel that will deliver an impactful story. (It's about society after a sudden rise in sea levels to put it in a sentence).
Guilty Parade was the other noteworhy visual novel. I don't really know why? The setting seems intriguing and the art looks nice so I'm just interested to see how the game develops.
The other visual novels I tried weren't interesting.
Why the hell are demos limited time though? It's the easiest way to decide if you want a game and it's weird for developers to not offer it when they can.

My thoughts exactly! I'm actually a huge supporter of games, especially indies, to come out with free prologues and demos. It's just a great win-win way to let players get a feel for a game before wishlisting or pulling out the wallet, and the devs could also get some feedback from the players.

have low inet speed so bad promotion for me , and im too lazy to try them anyway, only wish there would be rotation to show top demos voted by community list.

Games that I enjoyed:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/983970/Haven/
Haven - JRPG/Adventure
https://store.steampowered.com/app/443190/Project_Haven/
Project Haven - nice turn-based cyberpunk tactics
https://store.steampowered.com/app/600610/The_Hand_of_Merlin/
The Hand of Merlin - turn-based strategy. But too early to say anything in particular.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1033950/Lamentum
Lamentum - kinda like The Count Lucanor
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1167140/Gloria_Victis_Siege_Survival/
Gloria Victis: Siege Survival - similar to Frostpunk in many ways
https://store.steampowered.com/app/720560/Vigil_The_Longest_Night/
Vigil: The Longest Night - nice visuals, but can't say too much about the gameplay itself.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1132980/There_Is_No_Light/
There Is No Light - Interesting setting, might give it a try
Ed. Gosh, I knew i'd screw the formatting up.

Ah dangit, I missed Project Haven! 100% looks like the sort of game I'd love.
Gloria Victis looks interesting too - loved Frostpunk to bits, after all :) Thank goodness the demo is still around! Ima download it and give it a shot, thanks!
Tried Haven during the LudoNarra Con and I really liked the world building, the relationship between the cute couple, and of course, the flying/hovering. Can't wait to see the final release! :)

Played a lot of demos, found very interesting titles.
These sadly were too short, but still: Critters for Sale, Papetura
Most favourite demos:
Inspector Waffles — p'n'c
The Innsmouth Case — textbased
INMOST
The Almost Gone - puzzle/p'n'c
Port Valley — great p'n'c, almost missed it because of its gray-ish preview pic. Demo is still available and even have 6 achievements. I played ~hour but didn't finish yet :D

Yep, it's pretty good, and an excellent example of a demo — you surely will know if you want a full game, or not. Gameplaywise, at least. After this event I think when games with pure puzzle gameplay have demos — it's actually a great idea :D. Like Kine, A Monster's Expedition, Radical Rabbit Stew, etc

Say No! More funny, easy and relatable.
Ynglet I like Nifflas games and this is the latest.
Superliminal it's been out on Epic for sometime and I knew I want it but playing the demo made me want it more.
Critters For Sale a point and click monochrome trip to the afterlife. Amazingly stylish. You get to meet with Michael Jackson and if you disagree with him, he'll cut you in half

I only played one, Teenage Blob but it was so cool
90s aesthetics mini-game compilation with absolute bangers of a soundtrack,
The one minigame featured in the demo was paperboy-esque, but with much better controls than the SNES era one.
Highly recommended

Planned on checking the game out myself this weekend (if possible). The demo is still available for anyone interested :)
P/S: The same goes for Everspace 2. This is one truly gorgeous game! Plays incredibly well too.

Ghostrunner has muuuuuuuuuuuch potential. Smooth gameplay and good soundtrack.
Destroy all Humans is a 1:1 updated game that works better than the original. The physics are funny as hell. :D
I love that game!
Superliminal - veeeeeery awesome concept! And this shows what's possible and why video games are art!
I really like that.

Thank you for making this thread! I wrote down my impressions, but wasn't really gonna do anything with them. But I'm glad there's a place to share them now! My favorites were...
Movement-based puzzle game.
Really fantastic presentation. The puzzles are not as intuitive as Snakebird, maybe on par with Pipe Push Paradise. I would definitely want more of this though. Also, for as much as I love the music? I’m not sure it’s very good for a puzzle game. It’s too upbeat! It’s not as easy to focus as say, Snakebird or PPP’s super chill tunes.
Brilliant retro FPS fun.
I don't really have much else to add, it just felt good to play.
Atmospheric, exploration game with unique movement mechanics.
It always looked interesting, but I never was sure if it was fun to play? But man. Yes. Yes. Yes. Great sense of motion. Such chill audio design and music. Such incredible weather effects. I love it.
First Person Melee Combat.
Holy crap, I don’t think I’ve ever played anything like this where the movement and combat felt this good. Maybe Dark Messiah of Might and Magic or Dishonored. But this is miles faster. Nice visuals so far too. Shame then, that the enemies are boring. But it’s early in development. With more variety for enemies, challenges and locations, this is gonna be an amazing gem.
Story-Based Visual Memory Puzzle?
Very intriguing. Feels like a mix between Firewatch (the setting), In Other Waters (the color schemes) and something like, I dunno. Papers Please or Not For Broadcast mixed with more of a puzzle game. I really like it. Not just because it has squirrels.
Cinematic In-Depth 2D Combat.
It’s great, but God, do I suck at it. Great visuals, really interesting combat, but man. I’m bad at it. Definitely one to watch out for though!
Action-RPG with a unique loot mechanic.
First impression: "I don’t care about this plot or this hard to read font." But then? "This is amazing!" Such a fun visual style and music and gameplay! Switching out all the body parts, it’s great. I really enjoyed this.
First Person Walking Simulator (with light puzzles?).
This one took me wholly by surprise. Brilliant art, and just very unexpected. Love the environments and sense of scale.
Roguelite First Person Horror.
An unsettling, bizarre, disorienting fever dream of a game (I love it).
3D Sokoban about burning your belongings.
While the visuals don’t appeal to me as much as they did for Pipe Push Paradise (by the same developer), this is still good stuff. It feels more intuitive than Kine, but just as in PPP the difficulty ramps up very quickly. I love the idea of each level giving you a crate and that letting you navigate the overworld. Makes it feel more open and less dependent on finishing things in a specific order while also still giving you more of a sense of accomplishment for completing a puzzle.
Retro Action Puzzle Thing?
This one was a surprise. It legit feels like something I would have played as a kid in graphics and sound design and just… yeah. It’s really fun, actually. Not sure how I feel about it as a vegetarian though, haha. But nah, it’s great stuff!
I also really enjoyed Ghostrunner, but you already mentioned that one! All in all, I played 70 demos. I wanted to play more, and it seems most are still available? But also, I kinda have to get back to doing other things, too, haha! I'm very tempted to try more though, in spite of a backlog. It's just lots of fun getting these short impressions of wildly different games.

I tried Exo One, and although I liked the motion (when it works) and the atmosphere, I found the game rather boring :P
And wow, 70? That's insane! Not sure about most, but there are some demos that I'm interested in and the demos for those games are gone now. Unto the End is one of them - Well, at least you get to try it! :) I suspect I'll probably suck at the game as well but it looked amazing.

This is very true :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8_Eok0FA5c tried a bunch of them on a livestream, unfortunately I didn't had the time to try Superluminal.
Also the GA link seems broken

I really liked the feeling of the first person ones (I tried a bunch of them, first person, fast paced), but I can't remember the names!
There was one with a sword and minimalistic graphics and I enjoyed it a lot, and then one with a grapple
(also thanks for the tip on the GA, I didn't try it but it was obvious)

Did you try any of the "hundreds" (900+ as claimed by Valve... I didn't count :P) of demos available over the weekend? Which ones are your favourite/s?
For me, I have too big a list to add here but there are a couple of surprises:
Omno - Fun jumping puzzles with amazing abilities and relaxing atmosphere. Love the cool and unique "end of demo" as well - no spoilers :)
Grounded - It's a survival game where you play as a teen who was the unwitting participant of a "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids"-style experiment. This was actually similar to a game idea I had last year after being reminded of the film, but I guess I was late to the party :P Would love to be able to "tame" insects and use them as mounts or pets though. Oh and I got myself killed by soldier ants, gnats, ladybirds that rammed into my character like a tank, and even spiders... so that was a lot of fun :P
Book of Demons: Hellcard - Only the co-op multiplayer mode is available and it's surprisingly strategic and addictive to play. I also love the co-op aspect of the gameplay and along with a fellow stranger/player, we've managed to reach the final boss where we both got our asses promptly handed back to us because the end boss is designed to be that way. You see, every player that reached the end boss will contribute whatever damage they can to take down the boss. It's a cumulative effort There's no need for chat or an entire list of "signals" (there's only a single "ping" that we can use to alert the other about a certain enemy) for us to figure out how to work together.
Undungeon - A roguelite with amazing pixel art that's not too difficult to play and doesn't have a harsh death penalty if you remembered to save at the designated save points. Reminds me of Sparklite with a dash of old-school Fallout, and it seems like the game has a crafting aspect (there are "resources" that I could pick up and hoard) which isn't revealed in the demo.
Arietta of Spirits - Another Sparklite-like roguelite but with a more relatable story. The game's not too difficult either, but it's definitely a lot simpler than Undungeon with fewer "abilities" (there's a huge variety of bombs as well as gear and runes to mix and match in the latter).
The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos - Love tactical RPGs and this one has a nice dash of whimsy in it, and the game really knows how to tempt someone (me) to do something that they have explicitly said not to just to see what happens. Barely made it out alive :P
Popup Dungeon - Another turn-based RPG with a purportedly amazing editor, which I'm sad to say I didn't really get to try out. The campaign is very RNG-based though and getting dealt a bad dice roll can really hurt your chances later on.
Ghostrunner - An incredibly-cool, cyberpunk-themed slasher-speedrunner where you play as a ninja. Reminds me strongly of Distance which I've completed after rage-quitting several times but with a lot more insane ninja moves. Probably not the sort of game I'd buy to play, unless I want to torture myself with even more rage-quits, but I really love the atmosphere in the game and of course, the cool moves.
Learning Factory - It's a supply chain-focused shop sim where you gather a variety of resources, turn them into more valuable products, and then sell them to inter-dimensional cats at your cat shop. Interesting premise and gameplay. Still lacks some quality of life features though like being able to build long stretches of conveyor belts without having to click to place each tile one by one.
Snowtopia - a theme park tycoon-like game but instead of a theme park, you build a ski resort! Seems a bit bare bones at the moment (only a few buildings) but I reckon that's likely because it's a demo. Game looks good so far, though the tutorial could use a bit more tweaking - took me wayyy too long to figure out why my ski lifts and runs are "not connected" despite being connected to the highlighted area that's near to the entrance.
Personally, I was pleasantly surprised by many of the demos I've tried. Although not all of them are hits, I have added a number of the best ones to my wishlist and I'm happy to say that those that are already there, remained there :) Note that I didn't include any of the demos I've played during the LudoNarra Con in the list above - there are some really great ones there too!
These events are truly fantastic for great indie games to gain the exposure they sorely need but seriously, a single weekend is simply not enough for someone who has wide ranging interests. Didn't get to try several of the games that I wanted to try due to work and life :/ (Builders of Egypt and Touch Type Tale, for instance) Some of the demos but not the two I've mentioned are still available now though.
Of course, a compulsory GA :)
