yes, far as im aware, when you buy a game on steam, if it can run on mac (and steam has that copy of the game available), then you 'own' that version of the game as well automatically... and it works in reverse. buy a mac game, and you own the pc version if its available.
re: question above: steamworks means a game that 'requires' steam (ie a cd key that activates on steam)
