Not sure whether any of you heard but there is a Amazon scam thing going around where someone sends a fake email confirming your Amazon order as if it's real Amazon.

Message similar to:

"Good afternoon,
Thanks for your order. We’ll let you know once your item(s) have dispatched. You can check the status of your order or make changes to it by visiting Your Orders on Amazon.com.

Order Details
Order LI1430413 Placed on December 8, 2013

Order details and invoice in attached file.

Need to make changes to your order? Visit our Help page for more information and video guides.

We hope to see you again soon. Amazon.com"

These emails contain a zip file which is a malware, so be cautious of this scam since I see that there are many sales on Amazon at the moment.

I still receive WoW from time to time. Even through my only contact with WoW is playing Warcraft 3 (btw: funny how W3 single player practically copy-pastes Starcraft story :P ).

Seeing as to how there would be no reason for Amazon to attach a zip file to such an e-mail that's kind of a red flag right there

Yes I understand. But in main body of the message they write 'Order details and invoice in attached file.'

Which never happens. They give you a link to go to your order page.

I had something similar, and ignored it. They didn't even manage to spell "Amazon" correctly ("Amzon"), and the main body was a morass of spelling and grammatical errors.

These people are illiterate cretins.

Must try harder.

Subject: Amzon

Malware in an email attachment? Why didn't I think of this? The guy who has the patent on this scam method probably has made billions by selling scamming licenses.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll let you know if I ever recieve one of these at the exact same moment I purchase an item from Amazon, the only moment this would possibly be effective.
